My current host has the tech support compassion of a dead snake. I desperately need to move away from them before I take a hostage. Seriously.

I have a site that uses OSCommerce and the database with it has been built up over 6 months. If I lose it, I can already imagine the nervous breakdown that will ensue. THAT site is working just peachy. I also have a couple of other sites for customers for my web development business over there, but none of THEM work correctly (my customers are lovin' me right now /sarcasm). I use WHM and CPanel over there, or would if the sites were working right.

What's the difficulty factor in moving everything over here in a reasonable amount of time? The ecommerce site has a bunch of ads in magazines going out in the next month so I need minimal downtime, but staying at this host is simply not an option, if just to prove that you cannot ignore customers. Its a principal thing.

Thanks for your help,

;)

The easiest method would be to to request a cPanel to cPanel transfer. If the tranfer doesn't work then you would need to backup your site and upload it to your new account. Once your content is moved over then you could change your DNS, this way down time would be minimal.

If you want to try a cPanel to cPanel transfer after opening an account, just drop a ticket to the help desk at https://tchhelp.com

Welcome to the forum Daphne :D

If in the rare case the cpanel to cpanel will not work

be sure to goto your cpanel > backup

and download your databases

and the home directory backup

which you could then restore here

and of course edit the config files for your OSCommerce

to reflect your user name here for the database.

But the transfer should work.

If you have any questions, please ask, we love to help ;)
