lhuggins Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I have read previous messages in the forum after searching on "newsletter", but I still need more direction. I would like to send out a monthly newsletter to about 300 customers. We have their email addresses. Is there a "best way" to accomplish this? I am starting from scratch. I would like a template (I suppose I could design one in Dreamweaver), but is there a good resource for this type of communication? This forum is a great resource. Many times I have found my solution without starting a discussion. Thanks to all of you for taking time to respond. Quote
webgyrl Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Have you thought of using something like Dada mail? I use it and it's wonderful. You can send plain text and also html emails and it manages all the signups etc. You can read more here: http://mojo.skazat.com/ It's free as well! Hope that helps. Quote
lhuggins Posted February 23, 2005 Author Posted February 23, 2005 (edited) Thanks for the recommendation. I have visited the Web site, and it looks pretty good. I have downloaded the zip file, but have not attempted the install. Did you do the install and configure? Are you using TCH for the hosting of your newsletter? My question is -- can I set up my own mailing list for my customers rather having them sign up themselves. This is for information that each customer would need to know. Thanks again. amansker Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 300 is a pretty small list. You can just maintain a .txt file like: joe@sdfsdf.com jane@sdfsd.com etc. and manually modify as needed. I have used Gammadyne Mailer for lists of 20,000 - lots of options. http://www.gammadyne.com/mmail.htm I have several clients that just use a text file, Outlook, and simple HTML file: http://thompsonrose.com/newsletter/ Quote
