prairiepixels Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 hmmmm not sure how to start.. so.. here goes. I just looked at the FTP manager in my cpanel. There are 49 and growing.. FTP accounts!! YIKES!!! I only set up 3!!! The ones I am getting now are very strange! they are all 0@prairiepixels.com - so.. what is doing this?? How do I stop it?? When I try to delete one of them, I get a 404 error and it won't take them out! I did go in and disable the anonymous FTP thing. (Not sure even what I would do with it.. or what it is) LOL Oh I feel dumb.. but I also feel like someone has taken advantage of my ignorance.. wahhh Please help! Thank you Billie Jo Prairie Pixels Quote
Prel Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Hello prairiepixels, The ftp accounts are created as a result of a bug in Cpanel. Support TCH already knows of this and is verifying. Please open a help desk ticket if it will not stay removed. TCHHelp Welcome to TotalChoice hosting Family forums Quote

stevevan Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Welcome to the forums and family! Yikes! That's scary. Your situation reminded me to review my AwStats as well as my other site parameters. I try to do that at least once a month to make sure things are acting "normal". Hopefully our tech guys can get you taken care of! Quote

TCH-RobertM Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Maybe your ISP made a change to block port 25 ? You can try changing the port to port 26 in Outlook under the Advanced options to see if this corrects the problem. Maybe your ISP is having a Problem Quote

One of your 'maybes' is probably right!!! I am just glad all is well know. Oh.. and I have tried to change port to 26.. that doesn't seem to work for me either.. do you suppose..my ISP has blocked that port? Thanks again for taking time to read and help! You all are just fabo! Billie Jo Prairie Pixels Quote
TCH-RobertM Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 prairiepixels, I am glad it is working now If you tried changing to port 26 and that did not work then I would not think that your ISP is blocking 25 I could be wrong though. Could have just been a server issue for your ISP Quote
