Hi,

A 500 illegal port error is "The command was not accepted and the requested action did not take place" Found here

This could suggest that you need to change the direction of your ftp. In other words, you want to use passive mode. it changes the direction tha tthe data conneciton gets opened (from you machine to the server instead of from the server to your mahchine).

I need to start using cuteftp because at present, i use WSFTP!

I use CuteFTP to access my TCH reseller site with no problems. Passive (PASV) should be set (enabled) by default. However, I just tested CuteFTP by disabling the PASV option and I was still able to access my site.

For each web site you set up under your reseller acocunt, be sure that you are using the assigned web site's master account name and password for the CuteFTP

Finally, we do provide some Flash movie tutorials on using CuteFTP on TCH's Help Web Site. Click here to view them.
