AlanV Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I'm at the airport right now (heading home for Christmas break! yayyyy) Tons of problems (from my journal) First, the reservation was found, but the ticket couldn't be issued, so I had to call United on the phone and wait while they sorted things out.Turns out that they had never charged my parents' card for the flight change, so I had to wait while they tried to charge the ticket. They couldn't charge my parents' card, so they tried charging mine. Then they couldn't so I had to go to the ticket counter and wait while they tried to get the ticket change to go through. Finally, after about an hour on the phone and 30 minutes at the counter, I got my new ticket and checked in successfully. Then I was randomly selected for extra screening, so it took long to get through security. Bleah. Anyone else hate flying? Quote
TCH-Rob Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I am not too put off by the flying part but I find it more fun when they open the door so I can jump. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 When i flew up to MI from TX to look for a house it was a nightmare. I didnt have a direct flight so I flew from Odessa to Dallas, Dallas to Atlanta, Atlanta to Flint. My flight leaving Odessa was late because the pilot didnt show up, this caused me to miss the connecting flight from Dallas to Atlanta. On the flight back my flight from Atlanta to Dallas was delayed causing me to miss my connecting flight from Dallas to Odessa. I spent about 10-12 hours just sitting in airports due to delayed flights. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I had to take a trip to San Diego for work almost 2 years ago now. The tickets were purchased through Checp Tickets with overnight delivery which didn't show up in time (2-days later). When I called to find out what to do without the tickets they told me no problem just go to the airport and check in and all would be well. NOT TRUE! I had to repurchase the tickets and then submit a lost ticket claim for the ones that showed up late. I refused and had them removed from my credit card. It took over a year to get that mess straightened out. I will fly again but I will never use Cheap Tickets again. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Loves flying. But it happens too rarely Quote
stevevan Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Take it from me...they don't treat FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) employees any better! (Before I get flamed, I'm an installer...I don't have anything to do with the administration part! ) I've been working with them for 3 years now and I also have endured many delays due to humans, mechanical, and weather. I could also relate some other "stories" but I'll save that for another time! However, I still love to fly. I flew in (and jumped from) aircraft for nearly 20 years in the Air Force and I still enjoy it...even with the headaches and hassles! Quote
