Hi guys,

I have a few questions for the semi-dedicated and dedicated server hosting plans.

+ Do those plans also allow only a single domain or is more than one permitted?

+ If an operation being hosted by TCH expanded in a major way, are you guys set up to handle things like adding servers to a setup, setting them up for load sharing, etc.?

+With the dedicated server plans, what's your typical tech support response times for emergency situations such as a hardware failure, security compromises, etc.?

+What comes with the fully managed dedicated hosting plan that does not with the unmanaged?

+ If someone needs help with something that isn't covered in the dedicated hosting plan that they choose, what do you guys typically charge per hour for server configuration related projects?

Thanks for the help,

~Roger

Hi Roger,

+ Do those plans also allow only a single domain or is more than one permitted?

The semi-dedicated and dedicated servers are effectively large resellers. Hence you can have multiple domains on them (each with their own cpanel)

+ If an operation being hosted by TCH expanded in a major way, are you guys set up to handle things like adding servers to a setup, setting them up for load sharing, etc.?

Yes, it is relatively easy to upgrade through the plans from basic hosting, right up to the dedicated server.

+With the dedicated server plans, what's your typical tech support response times for emergency situations such as a hardware failure, security compromises, etc.?

We monitor servers constantly. We have spares for key hardware, such as disks. As for times, it depends on the exact issue, and how many accounts you have on your account. Have a look at out forums for the various server issues we have had, and the response times for getting them back up and working.

+What comes with the fully managed dedicated hosting plan that does not with the unmanaged?

Basically, with the unmanaged server, we setup the server and hand you a username and password. We will maintain the hardware end of it and update the Operating System but thats it. Everything else is on you.

Fully managed means we do everything. If your not a linux guru then this is your best bet.

A dedicated server is all yours. You do what you want with it as long as its within our Terms of Use.

If you have the fully managed dedicated server, then server configuration issues are within the costs. For unmanaged, I will need to check...

Thanks Roger, for posting your questions.

I'm currently on the "Deluxe Resellers" plan and I'm running out of disk space and bandwidth. I'm assuming that my next logical step up is this:

-- Semi-Dedicated, Fully Managed, Dual Intel P3 Server

As a reseller, when I upgrade to this, will it just give me more space and bandwidth? Are there other features I'll get? Anything I'll lose?

I just want more space and bandwidth. I don't know UNIX or anything. I just use WHM and sell the domains and the clients use their cPanels. That'll be the same, right?

Andy said, "The semi-dedicated and dedicated servers are effectively large resellers." so I'm hoping it'll just be a clean and easy upgade--as it was from Simple to Basic to Standard to Deluxe Resellers.

Thanks very much,

- Bradley
