Andrew Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 I'm having a strange problem trying to get my e-mail. If I use Eudora to check it, no problem. But if I use a different client (e.g., Outlook, Outlook Express), it checks the mail but reports that there's no new mail. AND... if I use Webmail (i.e., Neomail/Horde), it also shows that there's no new mail. I like Eudora a lot, and it's clearly the best program out there (shameless plug), but A) I'd like to be able to use Outlook at work, where I can't install my own software and 2) I'd like to use Webmail. Any ideas? Thanks! Andrew Quote
tastewar Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 Is it possible that Eudora is configured to delete the mail from the mailbox (presumably the default), and you've always used Eudora first? Thus leaving no mail around for the other programs to find? Otherwise, perhaps you are unwittingly targeting different accounts with the different packages? Quote
Andrew Posted April 4, 2003 Author Posted April 4, 2003 That was the first thing I thought of. Nope -- I always make sure to send myself some new mail immediately (using a non-Eudora client) and wait. Still nothing. Then when I load Eudora it finds the mail. As we speak I'm logged into my account via Webmail and there's nothing there. I sent myself a message; no luck. It never appears. I sent myself a message to my work address and it went right through. Arrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhh! Quote
TCH-JimE Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 Hi, Another silly question, the other clients can see the email account ok? Jim Quote
Andrew Posted April 4, 2003 Author Posted April 4, 2003 A-ha! A-HA! HAH! Fixed! Trouble was that I was logging in with my account username and not my e-mail username. (The one thing I don't like about TCH is that I can't have "andrew" as my username because someone else does, so I have to be "akantor@kantor.com" officially and then set up forwarding.) Annnnnnnnnnnyway, all is well and I'm an idiot. Andrew Quote
