Hi.

I currently use Blogger to publish my blog which is hosted on bloghosts.com. I am looking to switch to a new hosting company. What will I need to do (I believe I need to install a Blogger script, but I have no idea what that entails) in order to continue using Blogger?

Any help is much appreciated!

Hi Lisa.

OK, I guess I'm confusing myself because I was emailing with someone from tech support and either misunderstood them or got a different answer.

So, if I use Blogger to publish, I do not need a special script or need to install anything? All I have to do is change my FTP settings to point to totalchoice and I'm good to go?

Thanks!

Correct. I use Blogger, and I just entered the FTP settings on their site and told it which folder to publish in. I still enter my blogs at their site but it is actually published to my domain.

OK, one final question before I sign up. I went to the link that Lisa provided, what does free cPanel to cPanel account move mean? And how do I get that started?

TIA.

Cpanel is the backend that you can use to manage your account - that includes viewing logs, setting up ftp and email accounts, installing some scripts, setting up databses and some other things. If you do a cpanel -> cpanel transfer then all your settings from your bloghosts account will be moved here so that you don't have to set up everything again.

I hope that clarified things. =)

Very cool, thank you.

Last question--I signed up...what info do I need to get to do the cpanel transfer, and who do I need to give it to?

You need to contact the Help Desk for that - I'm not really sure what information they need. Just let them know that you're coming from bloghosts and want to take up the transfer, and they'll let you know what details to send. =)
