jdoug Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 My office just started blocking outbound port 25. Is there a way to setup an alternate SMTP port for sending email? Quote
GroovyFish Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Hi jdoug, Welcome to the family! Try port 26, it's set up as an alternative. HTH Quote
MikeJ Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 You could also use port 465 if you enable SSL encrypted SMTP in your mail client. Quote
MikeJ Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 I have a habit of encrypting all of my connections. Quote

tim s Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I have one website where using port 26 works great (and I can telnet into it with port 26). I just registered a new site with you that is on IP 66.235.180.58 and it doesn't work. When I try to telnet, it says "Connection refused". Can I ask you to turn on port 26 for smtp on this new server? Thanks, Tim Quote
MikeJ Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Can I ask you to turn on port 26 for smtp on this new server? Certainly! Just submit a help desk ticket. In general, anytime you have a problem with your server, or need something changed on your server, you should always use the help desk first. It'll get to the right people to take care of it for you in a timely manner. Quote
