BellaAna Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Does photoshop CS have a max number of fonts it can support? I had 10, 000 fonts and cut that down to about 4 000 but photoshop only gives me up to T (it was P or S and once D... depending on how it feels) Quote
TCH-Don Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 You might want to check the adobe site. I don't have the CS version so I can't help you. But as mentioned in your other thread, a 1000 is consider a lot. I doubt that there are really 10000 different fonts. many fonts are the same but with different names. Even with 400 I see some duplicates. Keep in mind the more fonts your computer has to load the slower it will be. If you find out the limit for CS, please let the family know I am sure there are others with CS. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 4000 is still way too many! I'm not sure if PS has a limit on the amount of fonts you can install but I doubt it. Your fonts are mostly handled by Windows. Does Windows have a limit? Hmmm that depends, the original 1000 limit from Windows 9x comes from the small size limit of an individual registry key. That limit does not exist in XP, so you can install fonts all day long. The problem is your registry will become much larger than needed or possibly corrupt and affect system performance. There is no way you can use all of those fonts at once, so get a font management program. Until you do this and disable fonts until needed you will continue to experience problems with PS and Windows. Just My 2% of a $ Quote
