drd333 Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Okey dokey, I have created my guestbook, I think and I'm looking at all these funky "templets" - what do I do with those? Please use small words...I'm clueless... Also to set up a guestbook on sites that are not hosted by TCH (but will be next year) where can I find a no-brainer script installer thingy for a guestbook that I can simply cut and paste on to my sites. Thanks FARSCAPE: THE PEACEKEEPER WARS! SUNDAY AT 9/8C - WATCH IT!! Quote
drd333 Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 Looks like I put this in the wrong place -- I really want to be able to do this its not a suggestion! Help please.... Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Sorry, I don't know the answer but I will move it to a more appropriate area for better exposure. Quote
TCH-Don Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 In the guestbook admin, you can edit the php template files if you change the files permissions to 777, using ftp. It helps to know html and php. Generally its best to back up the files first, I download the whole guestbook so I have a backup on my computer. You should only make slight changes at at time, as its easy to render the guestbook useless. You can also change the colors in the style menu, that part is easy Quote
bellringr Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Here are some links that might help a little. Don, I haven't had to change the permissions on the templates to change them - I just downloaded them in Dreamweaver, made the change, saved, and uploaded. But I'm sure it's different depending on where you do the edits. A useful thread Another thread Yet another thread And one more thread Quote
TCH-Don Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 (edited) Yep, with ftp, you do not have to change permissions. Just need to if you use the admin. Edited October 18, 2004 by TCH-Don Quote
drd333 Posted October 16, 2004 Author Posted October 16, 2004 thanks...I did a search for "guestbook" and I only go one return I don't know why it didn't find the others! I'll read through them all a second time and see if anything sinks in! Quote
