Back Up File Size

Greetings all TCHers. Thanx always...the responses I get here are spot on.

 

Have noticed that when I do a full backup the size of the backup file in my FM is anything from 30,000k to 200,000k. Why the difference in sizes? All are tar.gz files.

I havent replied because I am not sure of the answer. I should have responded something at least to let you know but in the future please follow forum guidelines and do not bump threads. Hopefully someone will be along soon with an answer.

This is all just guesswork, however I think that there could be a few causes:

 

1) Rotation of log files and time of month.

2) Amount of email on server, and archival thereof.

 

Ok, that's my two shots at it. I'm trying to think of other content that may change for a standard account, as that's what I'd look to for the changes.
