Hi! I just signed up for TotalChoice hosting. I use a Mac (OS 10.2) and Adobe GoLive (v6). I am NOT able to connect to the ftp site using GoLive. I AM able to connect using Fetch. The only difference that I can figure is that GoLive requires me to have a "valid protocol" before the ftp address (i.e., "ftp://" or "http://"). I've tried adding those onto the ftp address (ftp.myurl.com) but it doesn't seem to work. Has anyone else used GoLive? Is there a trick? Thanks so much.

OMG It's another GoLive User

Julie, I use GoLive CS on Windows and all I enter is either ftp.domain.com or the ip address. GoLive automatically adds the ftp:// so you don't need to.

Actually, I am pretty inconsistant with how I enter it for all my sites, I enter ftp.domain.com or www.domain.com or the IP address in the server field select FTP for protocol and the username and password. All 3 ways work fine.

I just moved to CS from Version 6 but I believe that 6 was exactly the same.

Hi GroovyFish! I'm still using GoLive 6. And it does not automatically add the "http" or the "ftp." It drives me crazy. It's ALWAYS been a problem. I upgraded from GoLive 4 and it DID automatically add in the http and ftp. But now it doesn't. I've tried both the ip address and the domain name... neither works. As you can tell, it's been many weeks since you posted. I just now could bring myself to deal with this again. As I think I originally said, I can get on using Fetch no problem... so I know I'm typing in the information correctly. But GoLive just won't let me connect. I doubt I'll upgrade to CS because I'm so ticked off with GoLive.

Anyway, thanks for your input. I'm glad it works for you! ;)
