Amember Pro Problems

I have been using Amember Pro for several months without problem. I now need to allow someone FTP access to a folder that I am protecting with Amember, but cannot figure out how to. I granted them access through cpanel, but the Amember user id's are the only ones that work.

 

Any suggestions on how to do this?

I'm not sure either, since I never used amember but isn't FTP a completely separate issue of amember? What I mean is that the permissions for FTP access are completely separate from the permissions amember sets for the same directory.

They are different, and that is my problem. I know the primary user id and password will give access to all of the folders, but I only want this person to have access to the one folder. I was hoping that by setting him up as an ftp user with access to that folder, that he would be able to get access and still allow all other users to access through amember. The amember login is the only one that is being recognized, however.

That's strange. Perhaps you should submit a help desk ticket so the support staff can take a look at the problem.

I looked at the account settings and see that Liz has answered. AMemeber basically writes a section into your .htaccess file to force using a different .htpassword file than the system default. So Amember is controlling the access to the directory preventing the CPanel ftp from working correctly. You would need to contact Amemeber support to determine if there is a way to grant write access for the user.
