Blackcat Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 It's 4 weeks that l can't make any rebuild of my Movable Type weblog. From home, where l am connected with high speed connection (optical fiber). From seaside (56k) or office pc (ADSL) everything works. Anyone has ideas of what is happening??? Could be any feature of my new pc? (already tried switching off both firewall and antivirus, but nothing worked properly) Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Can it be that internet service provider blocking anything? Quote
MikeJ Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Do you have anything blocking pop-ups? If I remember correctly, MT creates a popup window to confirm the rebuild. The speed of your connection shouldn't have any affect on MT rebuilds. Quote
Blackcat Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 Can it be that internet service provider blocking anything? Actually, l think not. Also because there is no data flow with a Movable Type rebuild... it is approximately the same cgi script as the one l use to publish a new entry. The blog itself works perfectly. Just the rebuild doesn't Quote

It is a really weird thing... Quote
norlos Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 I know this is an old thread, but I have a similar problem. Any solution ever pop up? Quote
LisaJill Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 norlos, Are you running zone alarm or any popup blockers/firewalls? What browser are you using? Is it a new install, and what version? A bit more info is necessary to help. =) Quote
Deverill Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 Doesn't MT rebuild itself using scripts that run on the server? If that's the case then the only thing that could be in the way is like Mike mentioned about missing a confirm box or something of that nature. From my very limited knowledge of MT I don't think anything like ISP blocks or such could be the problem. (Again, I'm not very familiar with MT so I'm just throwing something against the wall to see what sticks but it makes sense to me and if I'm right it may eliminate a whole boatload of possible problem sources.) TCH-Bruce Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 It is most likely a client side block of popups. I had the problem using IE and PopThis with MT. Just adding your site to allow popups should solve the problem. Quote
