john2411 Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Hi - In the course of testing my autoresponders, I discovered that they include my TCH domain management user name (i.e., the login name I enter to access cPanel) in the headers of the e-mails they generate. Shouldn't TCH be keeping its customers' login names somewhat secure? I am using the autoresponders as part of my mechanisms to fend off spam, and I am not enthusiastic about having them broadcast my domain user name all over creation. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? Thank you, John Quote
borfast Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 John, although I don't know the answer to your question, I just wanted to assure you we didn't forget about you. Don has already asked the higher powers about this and we'll let you know the answer Quote
hindixp Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 Hi, generally login names are visble on all outbound e-mails. all iam left with is to create a different email id for SMTP. Headers shouldn't do this to us. Quote
Head Guru Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 These are placed into the headers by the email server, we really have no control over this. Sorry Bill Quote
john2411 Posted September 6, 2004 Author Posted September 6, 2004 I appreciate the responses. OK, I suppose I can live with it. Perhaps some sort of aliasing technique could be explored in the future to cloak the username. Thanks, John Quote
