menttal Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Where do i find this info? * Your MySQL database name * Your MySQL username * Your MySQL password * Your MySQL host address (usually localhost) Quote
TCH-Rob Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 In your cPanel under Manage Mysql. Have you created the database yet? Quote
menttal Posted August 26, 2004 Author Posted August 26, 2004 Thanks rob i have not created the database yet.....i think. I have never done thsi so im not so sure. Plus i didnt have a mysql manager like you said...so I dont know. I pretty much got teh same response you gave me from sending a ticket in to TEch support. So i am back on the forums to ask. Response from Tech support: The information that you seek is to be created by you using MySQL. You can create a database and the other information and use it for installing IPB. I responded with: Are there instructions or a tutorial on how to do this on the forums or somewhere on the main site? Ive never done this before. So that is where i am at now and i have no clue so any assistance or pointing inteh right direction would be awesome, im very new at this whole thing. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 (edited) Menttal, which cPanel skin do you have? I use cPanel X and it's down in the lower right section of the screen under "Databases" labeled "Manage MySQL". Edited August 26, 2004 by TCH-Bruce Quote
menttal Posted August 27, 2004 Author Posted August 27, 2004 ok i found it so how do i know which one corresponds to that sub domain? These are the ones that i have. fantasy_home fantasy_ib fantasy_ivbd1 fantasy_pchat1 fantasy_phpbb1 Now i have active right now 2 active IPB boards, one PhpBB boards, one phpnuke site, and html index file. Im in the middle of an install for another IPB board so either one of those abov is the corresponding board or i have to create one...i dunno Quote
AlanV Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Any database can go with any script or subdomain, it all depends on the database name you provide the script with. The name you use to create the database is the database name you need (with fantasy_ before it). After you create the database, you create a new user and password (or simply reuse a old one, although this becomes confusing). This is the username ans password you need (with fantasy_ before it). Host address I believe is just localhost. Quote

Here is what i think. fantasy_home - This is my phpnuke site(main page) fantasy_ib(this one i have no clue) fantasy_ivbd1(this one i have no clue) fantasy_pchat1(no idea is this default? i made a chat once but deleted it) fantasy_phpbb1(im guessing this is phpbb board that im testing) now the 2 middle ones i did not create or make they were done by the auto installer if i am correct and since there are only 2 listed and im talking about a 3rd newly manually instaled IPB my guess is that maybe this 3rd one is not one of the above...so if that is true i still dont get how to create one....if it is one of teh above how would i test to see which one is which?
