acooper Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 When I make a sub-domain it redirects me automatically to the source. Is there anyway to keep the original sub-domain url at the top within the site? Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 8, 2004 Posted August 8, 2004 Can you give examples or a url so we can see what is not working. For those new to sub domains, They are created in cpanel which in turn creates a folder by the same name as your subdomain, and cpanel creates a link like a shortcut known as a subdomain. The files are stored in the folder domain.ext/sub but you can use the url of sub.domain.ext as you navagate through the pages you should see sub.domain.ext/page1 sub.domain.ext/page2 sub.domain.ext/page3 unless you use frames and use a target of _self to link to the pages. TCH-Rick Posted August 8, 2004 Posted August 8, 2004 When you set up the subdomain you should not set up any redirection. The subdomain will automatically redirect to the correct folder and show mysub.**** in the address bar. If you set up mysub.**** it will go to ****/mysub with no further action. If you go and set a redirect to www.****/mysub it will show that redirected address in the address bar. Quote
