Is It Possible To Only Host Email For A Domain?

I am interested in a reseller account. One of the sites I am working on would only need email through me (the actual website is hosted by a 3rd party developper). Is it possible to only host email and not the actual website?

 

I am guessing that this would be done by changing the MX settings and not the name server settings but I have never done this before so I wanted to check.

 

Are there any complications if they want to use TCH and the Mailman web interface you supply for mail lists?

It would be possible to use the account just for email. It would require setting up the MX record for the domain to point the IP of the server here. Mailman would not work if the domain is not pointing here.

Yes I think you can change the MX settings at your domain registar account.

 

Then, one of the reseller cpanel themes is xmail

this will only allow them to acces the e-mail features

including create, forwarding and mailman.

 

Their cpanel will show

Access Web Mail

Add / Remove Email Accounts

Block an E-mail

Add / Remove / Modify Forwarders

Do you know if mailman would work if I had a subdomain pointed here?

 

The real site is fpleadership.org and would point to the 3rd party

The mail list site would be list.fpleadership.org and would point to here

 

This might not be possible in which case I'll probably just create a new domain for the mail list but I thought I'd ask.
