dsdemmin Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 I found this: A Texas Certificate of Title is not issued for a trailer unless the empty weight is in excess of 4,000 pounds and a Texas Certificate of Title is not issued for a semi-trailer unless the gross weight is in excess of 4,000 pounds. If any of the weight rests on the hitch of the towing vehicle, the classification is semi-trailer. The Motor Vehicle Title Manual outlines the procedures and forms necessary for title and registration of trailers. http://www.dot.state.tx.us/txdot.htm Hope this helps.
