Anyone out there know whether or not a flat-bed trailer has to be registered and have license plates in Texas??

We're not talking about a big trailer...just a 5x14 flat-bed.

I found this:

A Texas Certificate of Title is not issued for a trailer unless the empty weight is in excess of 4,000 pounds and a Texas Certificate of Title is not issued for a semi-trailer unless the gross weight is in excess of 4,000 pounds. If any of the weight rests on the hitch of the towing vehicle, the classification is semi-trailer.

The Motor Vehicle Title Manual outlines the procedures and forms necessary for title and registration of trailers.

Hope this helps.
