michéal Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Is there anyway I can stop registering hits to my site when i check uploads to my site. Quote
LisaJill Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Check out this thread and the other linked threads in there for information on achieving this. =) Quote
michéal Posted June 25, 2004 Author Posted June 25, 2004 Lisa my config file looks different SkipHosts="" # You can specify specific IP addresses that should NOT be looked up in # the DNS. You may specify partial addresses (ie 163.85. for everything # behind the usual firewall setup, etc)... # This is only useful if DNSLookup=1. # Note: Use space between each value and put a backslash before each dot. # Example: "163.85. 201.101.51.2" # Default: "" where do I add my ip address Michéal Quote
TCH-Don Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 if your own IP address is 123.123.123.123, use SkipHosts="123.123.123.123" in the config file. Quote
michéal Posted June 26, 2004 Author Posted June 26, 2004 Thanks Don new to all this scripting and config stuff. I will check tomorrow and see if it worked. Quote

TCH-Dick Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Did you set the permission of the config file to read only(444). If not the server will overwrite any changes when it updates stats. Quote
michéal Posted June 26, 2004 Author Posted June 26, 2004 Dick, No i didn't change the permissions and yes it did overwrite it. Changing the config file again and this i will set the permissions properly. May i take a moment and say the support in helping myself and others is fantastic from TCH, thanks hope this works let you know tomorrow Michéal Quote
TCH-Don Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 After reading the links lisa provided, I don't think I will try this. Too much trouble and I don't won't to left out on any updates to AWstats. Quote
