Is there anyway I can stop registering hits to my site when i check uploads to my site.

Lisa my config file looks different

where do I add my ip address

if your own IP address is 123.123.123.123,

use SkipHosts="123.123.123.123" in the config file.

Thanks Don new to all this scripting and config stuff. I will check tomorrow and see if it worked.

i checked that today and it is still registering hits under my ip address just added guestbook and search engine. checking out the different searches have added more hits from ip I dont want this to happen what am i doing wrong

Did you set the permission of the config file to read only(444). If not the server will overwrite any changes when it updates stats.

No i didn't change the permissions and yes it did overwrite it. Changing the config file again and this i will set the permissions properly.

After reading the links lisa provided, I don't think I will try this.

Too much trouble and I don't won't to left out on any updates to AWstats.
