TCH-Thomas Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 In earlier versions of Windows I could have windows not look for floppy at startup. Can I do that in XP and if so, how? Quote
TCH-Rob Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Thomas, That shouldn't be a Windows thing, that should be a BIOS thing. In my BIOS settings I can turn off floppy seek on startup. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted June 24, 2004 Author Posted June 24, 2004 Ok. I just have some vague memory that it was some setting in control panel > system, but I dont find it in XP. But I have been known to be wrong before. Thanks Rob Quote
Deverill Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Thomas, I know what you are talking about but can not find it in XP. There is a setting that causes Windows 98 and I think ME to recheck the floppy after Windows takes over from the BIOS. I guess maybe XP figures it doesn't need to recheck it? Quote
