newmaster Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 I am considering hosting with TCH and need some info regarding email systems. Our site has a couple of mailing lists with 500 or so members. Initial enquiries indicate that if I use a mail list I cannot exceed 50 emails per 300sec. I am not sure if the mail server will automatically rate limit, or the list will try to send all the emails and then the account gets suspended because I exceeded the limit. I have done some reading and found that Postfix 2.1 supports rate limiting but I don't know if TCH uses Postfix. Can anyone let me know if this is possible without splitting the list into small chunks and delaying the messages manually (defeats the purpose of a mailing list). Thanks Quote
newmaster Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 Looks good, how would I go about installing this on my site. Is it possible to install non-preconfigured software from CPanel? Quote
TCH-Dick Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Looks good, how would I go about installing this on my site. Is it possible to install non-preconfigured software from CPanel? You can upload it via File Manager in cPanel or use a FTP program. Just follow the instructions included with the script. If you have any problems just ask, several people here use or have used DADA. deepwapiti Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Are there any further quota limits to outgoing email besides the 50 per 300 seconds (such as 250 per hour)? I know that I can use Dada to delay outgoing messages to conform to the first quota. Quote
