zellin Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 Hi all, I would like to know how do I use the shared ssl? I have a program that needs the address and I don't know what it is. The site address is: www.careerlevel.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/classifieds.cgi Thanks, Marc Quote
zellin Posted May 11, 2004 Author Posted May 11, 2004 Thanks, but where do I find my server number? Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 In your welcome email it should say which server you are on, if not look for the ip mentioned in this email and then you can try this page. Quote
zellin Posted May 11, 2004 Author Posted May 11, 2004 This is what I got... 66.235.180.125 4 is number of sections yes yes yes yes You correctly entered the IP address. IP you entered wasn't found in our list. However, I will try the cpanel later. Can't get through the firewall here Mad!!! Thanks for your help! Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 I think you could be on one of the new servers. Submit a help desk ticket and ask. Link on top of page. On ticket, fill in unkown as server. Quote
TCH-Don Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 You are on 69 so https://server69.totalchoicehosting.com/~username/ should do it. Thomas, great answers Thumbs Up Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 Thanks. :-) How did you find that out, server 69 i mean? Quote
zellin Posted May 15, 2004 Author Posted May 15, 2004 One more question (hopefully)... How do I upload a file to the secure area of the server? I have a classifieds_ssl.cgi file that I need to upload in order to accept credit cards. Thanks Quote
cheapwebsolutions Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Sorry, I just don't understand it. Mine doesn't seem to work ... https://server32.totalchoicehosting.com/~cheapwe/ Quote
TCH-Dick Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Sorry, I just don't understand it. Mine doesn't seem to work ... https://server32.totalchoicehosting.com/~cheapwe/ Server 32 is a reseller server and reseller servers don't have a shared SSL certificate. You would have to purchase your own SSL certificate. Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 If you are a reseller it will not work. There is no shared SSL on reseller accounts. You would need to have your own SSL on a reseller. Quote
cheapwebsolutions Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 So none of my clients would have SSL on this server either? How about if I go to a dedicated server? If I need to buy my own cert, would that cover the entire server or do you buy a SSL for a domain? I know nothing about this stuff! Thanks for the replies. Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I did find one post that may answer your question. It seems you can get your own cert and share it with your clients if you use the way shown in that post. But its best to open a help ticket to the techs to get a answer. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I honestly can't remember who, but one of the family members has their SSL certificate set to a generic sounding domain name. Then all their clients share this certificate. I'm not sure if they are on a reslller plan or a dedicated server. Your best bet would be to submit a ticket to the help desk. Quote
