Ok, this is really odd.. I've just found this on Googles Cache. It purports to be a page under my domain full of nonsense, but that page has never knowingly been in existence on my server. I have not created nor deleted this file, yet it appears to have been there at some stage since Google has cached it. How can this be? Has my server been compromised? Rob

Hi there, I logged into Cpanel today and took a browse around to check that everything was running smoothly. When I looked in the Error Log section I was surprised to see a large number of 404 entries looking for pages that I do not have. They all look like cracks or pirate software..... I've never had links titled this in the past that might be cached somewhere. There are literally hundreds of them, all different. Any idea whats going on here? The only think I can think of ios some spam bot that’s gone wonky, but I cannot see what it achieves by looking for non-existent files. Rob

I did some further research and found this page:- http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/archive/ind...p/t-174960.html It describes a very similar problem to mine. Its apparently caused by the mod_security Apache module filtering the HTTP post request. That doiesnt mean a great deal to me, but I followed the suggestion of adding 'SecFilterEngine Off' to my .htaccess file and the problem is cleared. However, why has this been changed? Also, what is the downside to me adding the line above to htaccess? RM

I've stumbled across a very odd problem on my MT 3.2 installation. I'm unable to add any Imageshack thumbnail codes into my entries. When I attempt to Save or Preview such an entry I get the message:- 406: Not Acceptable An appropriate representation of the requested resource /mt/mt.cgi could not be found on this server. This used to work perfectly fine, as can be witnessed by the following pages on my site:- http://www.boringbutgood.com/mlsn/archives...r_vs_boomstick/ If I try to add the following code into an entry body then I get the error ><a href="http://img228.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cartierresearch11sr.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/7384/cartierresearch11sr.th.gif" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a> In order to get it to save I have to change every instance of the word 'image' to 'imge' or something similar, which of course breaks the link. This makes absolutely zero sense to me. I haven't made any changes to my installation, no plugin installations or setting changes at all. I've even tried disabling ALL plugins to no avail. I can only assume this is something serverside. I'm on server121. Can someone else try posting the code snippet above to their install under TCH to see if its accepted? RM

Hmm, thats wierd. I would have expected all options to be available regardless of the theme used to display them... I wonder what other items I'm not seeing due to the theme. (I'm using the default, which is Blue Lagoon I think...) I'll take a look at changing the theme.

I use a site called www.spamgourmet.com in my fight against spam. It allows you to instantly generate an email address that is good for a set number of emails. Any more than that and you no longer receive them. Its incredibly useful when registering on a suspect site. I'd advise everyone to take a look at it. RM

Morning all, Is there a way to get AWStats to tell me which file is the most popular on my site? I can see which page is visited most often, but I'm interested in seeing which .jpg's are viewed most frequently. RM

Hi Andy, Thanks for your responses to all of my questions. I dont think I made myself celar enough with this one though. Say I create a POP3 login called Boris@**** and I assign that user a 50Mb quota. When that users POP3 box hits 40Mb will they get sent an email telling them they are approaching their quota and to do something about it? Or, will it allow them to reach the 50Mb quota and then just drop any further incoming mails? It's not something that directly affects me at the moment, but its something I'm considering implementing. RM

Morning all, I have a question about how CPanel email quotas work. I take it that all email is rejected if the quota gets reached. Does the user get any message placed in their POP3 account when they are approaching capacity, or do they just wonder why they are not receiving any new emails? Rob

Thanks a lot for this info! Is it ok to sign up for hosting first to test the site via IP and then transfer the domain over later if appropriate? Is it just as easy to transfer a domain away from TCH in case I need to move again in future? RM
