  1. For some reason it is working again. It was odd that all of a sudden it stopped working. Ill open a ticket if this happens again. Thanks, -Jacques
  2. I'm getting this error now. I have been able to connect to the same mail account for a while now with no problems. But all of a sudden it gives me this error. Warning: imap_open() [function.imap-open]: Couldn't open stream {mail.mydomain.cc:143/notls}INBOX I logged in through the CPanel and was able to access it no problem. what would be the problem that it now all of a sudden fails to work? Thanks, -Jacques
  3. Thanks for the help. I guess i knew that I needed to go everywhere to add checking now, but was trying to find a way around doing it.
  4. The basic idea is this. The access to pages on the site are based on the menu system. But you can get to several other pages from links on the pages etc. IDs of certain content are displayed in the querystring. For example is user A from Company A is looking at their contact, let's say contactid 45.. He currently could change in the querystring to contactid 46 which may belong to Company B. As I originally designed the site, I should have taken more time to add checking on every page but we didn't and we were trying to figure out the cheapest way to fix the problem. I thought that preventing a user from going to a page from the location bar unless they had already been there would be a safe bet, but I ran into this problem with the referrer. I know I could accomplish what I want going to every page and adding checking there, however, that would be extremely long and costly. Just trying to find other alternatives. Thanks
  5. Coming from a meta refresh meaning <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url='blahblah.php'"> The $_SERVER["HTTP_Referrer"] in that case is blank.
  6. I need to track the HTTP_Referrer every time a page is hit so that I know if they came from another link, or if they typed in the location bar the url. I'm trying to prevent users within the site to do the latter. But there is no http_referrer when you come from a meta refresh, which is ok for users to do. Is there any way that I can tell if the user has come to the page from the location bar vs. anything else? Or anyway to tell if they came from a meta-refresh? Please help!! Thanks, -Jacques
  7. I dont know if this is of any help, but the only way that you can do stored procedure is to have the SUPER permission level for the server which you cannot have unless you have a dedicated server. We ran into that problem in the past. So again, the only way that you can write stored procedures with tch is having your own dedicated server. That was a while ago, but I believe that this is still the case.
  8. Sorry about that... I just figured it out... var test = '^' + searchstr; popDiv(RegExp(test,'i'),EmailsArray); Thanks..
  9. Someone please help!! I dont know what I can do so that I can get this to work.. if you have experience with regular expressions but dont understand quite what im getting at, please let me know. I need to get this working today!!!
  10. I dont use javascript a ton so this might seem like a stupid question.. but im trying to pass a variable in a function.. >function repopDiv(searchstr) { if (searchstr == '') { popDiv('',EmailsArray); } else { popDiv(/^*searchstr here*/i,EmailsArray); } } searchstr is a string that needs to be examined in the regular expression checking.. but how do I do that? if I do /^searchstr/i, it will look for searchstr.. Not sure exactly how to wrap it.. Thanks everyone!
  11. Is there any way to "trick" the servers into thinking that an actual user send the mail? What is PHPSuexec? Might this be able to help me to make everything more secure as a whole? Thanks, -Jacques
  12. Thanks everyone. I set it as the fifth parameter and it helped some because now it isn't sent in my spam folder. The Return path, and envelope-from is correct. However there is one part of the headers that im not sure if it could still be a problem for some mail clients. Here is what it says.. Received: from nobody by server01.piazza.cc with local (Exim 4.68) (envelope-from <support@piazza.cc>) id 1K4VAt-0004XV-Fi; Fri, 06 Jun 2008 02:11:43 -0400 Since it says that it is received from nobody, will this still cause some mail servers to reject the mail? Thanks, -Jacques
  13. this is the line of code that calls the mail. >mail($to, $subject, $msg, $headers "-f support@piazza.cc"); it gives me the following error. Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING. should it be >mail($to, $subject, $msg, $headers . "-f support@piazza.cc"); OR >mail($to, $subject, $msg, $headers, "-f support@piazza.cc");
  14. Is that a 5th parameter to mail() or a string that I put right after the headers? Also, is there a way to make it so that it doesn't use the nobody@servername? Here is the header that resulted from me doing the line above. Return-path: <support@piazza.cc> Envelope-to: support@piazza.cc Delivery-date: Thu, 05 Jun 2008 16:08:47 -0400 Received: from nobody by server01.piazza.cc with local (Exim 4.68) (envelope-from <support@piazza.cc>) id 1K4LlP-0000WJ-1w; Thu, 05 Jun 2008 16:08:47 -0400 To: support@piazza.cc the return path was fixed, but the received part of the header is still from nobody.. not sure exactly how to fix this.
  15. I'm having problems with the mail function. The basic php mail is using the nobody@servername.com and some mail clients seem to be rejecting the mail, either putting it in spam or rejecting it all together. How come is this the case? How can I change my settings or headers so that this doesn't take place? Thanks, -Jacques
  16. I want to prevent users to be able to see the index of any directories on our site, but if they link to the files, thats ok. How can I do that? Is it through .htaccess or CPanel? Thanks!
  17. Right, I've been using the LIKE to search for strings in other areas, but I what im doing is listing contacts by the first letter of their name/company name. I have links for A through Z but some start with numbers or other characters and I was going to have that be its own link. So for each letter, im doing LIKE 'a%' etc.. through z.. but im looking for a name that doesn't start with a letter. so I dont think that LIKE would work.. Maybe im wrong.. but if someone could help me with the syntax that would be great. Again, what im looking for is to find CustName where the first letter is not a letter. Thanks..
  18. Oops... using mysql... Lets say the Field name is CustName what would be the syntax? Only looking for the first character. Thanks
  19. For finding the records starting with a specific letter im using the LIKE 'a%' for example. But what would I do to find a record where the first character of a field is not a letter.. Thanks, -Jacques
  20. Thank you Jim, I haven't had the time to try it yet, but I will let you guys know how it worked out.
  21. Here is what im trying to accomplish. I am currently displaying contacts in a table in which the columns are customizable in what data they display. Im trying to avoid losing my column headers as I scroll down. What is the best way to accomplish this. Whether im using a scrollable div or an iframe, my problem is that the columns dont necessarily have a set width. It depends which contacts are being displayed at the time. so I can't really hardcode a width on each column to match the header to the div or iframe below. What would you suggest? Thanks, -Jacques
  22. The amount of disk space left on the account isn't a problem. We have several Gigs left and im only trying to zip up like 500 meg or something like that.
  23. In the past, I used ZipArchive or something like that for PHP to zip up all the files before running the script to download all the files but for some reason, it stopped working, it think it was when the file size got too big, but im not sure.,. Here is the error that it gave. Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 10619739 bytes) The weird thing is that it would give that error message at different points when I would try to run the script again. Thanks, -Jacques
