  1. I second David's comment and highly recommend you NOT install anything less than 3.15. There's no cost to download and install the latest version (one install/3 blogs, no tech support). A link to download the free version is here
  2. Thanks for that info David. I've had the same question in my mind but never asked it. That's great to know!
  3. Welcome to the Forum, Nathan
  4. I have Cleartype enabled on both my Sony Vaio laptop LCD and my Dell Axim X30 - makes a good deal of difference on both. As you can see from the mixed response the combination of monitor, video card, and eyesight make a lot of difference from user to user. Those who find Cleartype "fuzzy" might want to check your monitor/video card settings and see if raising the video refresh rate helps. If your monitor and card support it that will also make a diff. (Disclaimer - Do this at your own risk - don't touch things you don't know anything about unless you're pretty confident you can get yourself outta the mess you make!)
  5. The "default" MT.CFG file contains these entries down around line 40 or so. You may have acccidentally deleted them. If you haven't kept a backup of the original MT.CFG file you should be able to simply type them in again (just as you see them above in your note). Let us know how you make out. The first time is a tad difficult but once you've done it you'll be Ok from there on out. (Take notes and keep backups of original files that you change). Let us know how you make out.
  6. The simplest explanation is the browser caching, if the problem persists and it isn't caching (browser or server) then you might consider looking into the "dynamic publishing" feature of MT 3.15 and above. Welcome to the Forum!
  7. I use Statcounter as with most of the "free" counters/stats sites it limits the amount of data but they've got nice features. I've also got a Sitemeter counter but haven't noticed any problems with it. Matter of fact I'm considering removing both from my page - unless you really need to keep track of visitors it tends to get away with you (the obsession with how many, who etc) - JMHO.
  8. Most companies that offer domain registration also offer domain "backordering". For a small fee (usually around $20 or less) they'll monitor the domain name and as soon as it expires they will attempt to register it in your name. No guarantees, but the only alternative is to do that yourself. You should be able to see the expiration date for the registration using any number of available "whois" registration lookup interfaces on the web. I use Godaddy.com. Their domain search page is HERE John
  9. Congratualtions! Woodygap and natimage ( Peppy (the Chihuahua) and Stryder (the Rottie)) were my favorites to win. Thanks to everyone who entered a photo for making this lots of fun for all of us. TCH will be hardpressed to top this one.
  10. Here ya go. This is my work area at home. This is where a notebook comes in handy! I like my Vaio and I like my Total Choice! John
