  1. Once again the support team at TCH comes through. We had an outage today from an overload on our server and the team at TCH was right on top of it. We went down a second time and Bill came back from picking up his bike, it is a bike site that I run also to help us out. In therse days of bargain basement hosting to have a hosting service that goes out of there way and to care for it's customers is priceless. Thank you Bill and your team.
  2. PhotoshopCS has a batch feature for doing this and it also come with a gallery maker, Just select the pics you want and it does it all for the images and als makes the thumbnails and puts both in a separate dir. I have used it and it works well. You can also write an automated process to do it.
  3. Thank you all, port 26 appears to be working well for my traveling clients.
  4. I run numerous websites and would like to add a few of them to the family. Tristatesportbikes.com Waynewarner.com Home-Beacon.com b-venturousrecords.com Cleantouchinc.com theTMband.com lafemmessportriders.com This is a few of the sites I am presently running. Thank you in advance for adding me to the family.
  5. I have been Running a board using PHPBB for over 2 yeards that has been very heavily Modded and it hasn't skipped a beat with just about 250,000 posts and 2000 members and 50,000 visits a month. It is very robust and the support is wonderful due to the open source. I also have 8 more boards out there and some with mods others without. As an admin of the boards it is a pleasure not having to administer it all that much and allowing the mods to keep up with things. The support forum and add ons are very powerful There are mant sites offering almost anything you can think of to customise you board and being it is all done in php it isn't that hard to mod.
  6. Yesterday was a big hit to some forums I know of and my user count jumped to 581 from an attack from the sanity.a worm. My count before yesterday was 136. This was all due to a massive attack from this worm. I'm not sure if this board is vurnable to the same worm, I am using PHPBB and there are patches out to protect it.
  7. Just a heads up to all PHPBB users. If you haven't upraded to version 2.0.11 It is advisable to update as soon as possible. This is a critical update and there have been many forums that I know of that have been totally trashed by what PHPBB is calling the Highlight exploit. I suffered an attack yesterday and had over 500 guests an hour, the exploit is being used in conjuction with the search engines, the search engine finds a site with an older version of the Forum and then sends out the virus that has killed many sites. The only recovery once hit, is to restore the forum from backup. I and many others were hit with yesterdays attack and due to the updates we were able to survive it. There is also a code change to the config.php file that will kill these hits and not make your guest count jump.
  8. I've been with TCH for over 2 years now, but new to this forum. Seems that you take your hosting servive for granted when the provide extraordinary service and I was guilty of only visiting the TCH website the few times I had a issue or problem with some of my sites. I have some very active and large sites and hosting over 26 other sites and I am so impressed with the level of service always offered By Bill and the team at TCH. I have been with many other hosting services and I don't even want to start with some of the horror stories. From large to small hosting companies they all have their issues. None of them treat you like a family with one exception, TCH. Bill and the team he has is always professional and always available to help out a customer. You know a good service when someone goes the extra mile for you, one night I sent Bill a msg about something i needed and he told me he hapened to be on vacation while we were chatting and I was surprised when the next mornig my dilema was solved by Bills staff. Customer Service like this doesn't exist in this industry or many others today. Thank you Bill and Team for making my hosting as carefree as possible and taking my nightmares away.
  9. The problem with webmail is keeping records while traveling of outgoing emails. I know it is a solution, but whould like to keep it simple for my clients. I am on optonline here and port 26 is open on this pipe. I'll have some more testing done with one of my clients who is traveling right now. Are there any limits as to how many emails I can send using my own SMTP server? The second part of my first question.
  10. I will have them try port 26. I guess if that doesn't work then I am stuck with them haveing to sign up for an additional service.
  11. Hi all, Great forum I just found it and it is a great resourse for you and all clients. I have a few clients that use email while traveling and with all the port 25 blocking going on with all the isps. I was wondering if there was anyway I could configure a different port for their outgoing mail. I myself have this issue also and I know I can set this up with an outside service, but would rather offer it as one of my services. I also have a few clients who do some email marketing and would like them to be able to do some email campaigns through their own email accounts. These are small acounts and send campaigns to no more than 1000 opt in users every couple of months. Thanks all and keep up the good work, Gary
