  1. I'm having a similar problem with phpBB. None of the users can stay logged in to the forum. On http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=69 it says "The most likely cause for this is that the server is not set up correctly to use sessions". Any help would be appreciated
  2. Does anyone have a solution? It would be greatly appreciated. I think the problem is caused by my ISP using multiple IP clusters. For example, all the IPs that you see below are mine. phpBB views these as separate users when in fact it should see them as one and the same. 3. I've tried both Firefox and IE and encounter the same problem. I'm using Windows XP.
  4. Hey all, I'm having a problem with the phpBB I have just installed. I cannot stay logged in and get to the administration panel. I have tried changing the cookie settings and have also modified the code to allow for switching IP addresses (I found this at the phpbb website). The script is still not working. Any suggestions? Thanks, rowanp.
  5. Hi, Is there a mod for .htaccess such that all subdomains of a site are automatically redirected to another site with the same subdomain? For example if someone visits http://subdomain.****/ I would like them to be automatically redirected to http://subdomain.otherdomain.com/page.html. Thanks.
  6. I won't drag the issue out any longer, but the fact is that I am purchasing the SSL certificate myself (through thawte), and have already paid an installation fee for the original certificate. It is not a small fee, in fact it can pay for seven months' worth of hosting. rowanp.
  7. The only page on your site that speaks about this that I can find is http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/web-hosting-ssl.html. I don't see anything about renewal installation prices. I understand that there is a price for renewing the certificate itself, but why is there a price for re-installing the certificate? rowanp.
  8. Hi Is it true that I have to pay $35 every time I wish to renew an SSL certificate on the server? Regards rowanp.
  9. Thanks Andy. I will just route the cron messages to different addresses like you suggest. Regards rowanp.
  10. Hi Is there a way to have separate email addresses for differerent cron functions? For example, could I send the output of cron1.cgi to cron1@mysite.com, cron2.cgi to cron2@mysite.com, etc? Thank you rowanp.
  11. Hey David! Glad to see more South Africans using TCH! I am based in Cape Town, South Africa and host 4 web sites with TCH. I can honestly say that they provide the best customer service I have ever experienced (especially coming from South Africa). If you are having any issues with Afrihost or transfering your .CO.ZA domain, please send me a private message and I will be glad to help you out. Regards Rowan P.
  12. Brilliant, it worked perfectly! Thanks a lot Mike. Rowan P.
  13. Thanks for the suggestion, I am actually doing this already (the html way). The problem is that you can see the .html file for a split second before it redirects (which lacks the eloquence I was hoping for) . Great idea though, a lot of affiliates (even one very prominent one I know) use this technique to "hide" the fact that they are affiliates. I love hitting the stop button just before it redirects to uncover the truth . Rowan P.
  14. Unfortunately, this won't work because this is written in the .htaccess file: "RedirectMatch permanent ^/t1$ http://www.mysite.com/?a_aid=100". If there was a special command that could be used to force this it would be great. Thanks for the suggestion!
  15. Hi All I am having a bit of an issue with one particular cPanel Redirect. I want to redirect http://www.mysite.com/t1 to http://www.mysite.com/?a_aid=100. When I run the redirect by going to http://www.mysite.com/t1, it directs me to http://www.mysite.com/%3fa_aid=100. I understand the reasoning behind this, but my site responds with a "Page Not Found" error. It obviously makes the distinction between "?" and "%3f". Is there any way to force the redirect to use "?" instead of "%3f"? Regards Rowan P.

    Pear

Thanks for your help, Andy. I opened a ticket but was told it is a scripting problem. I think the problem must have arisen when TCH updated to PHP 4.4.1. I do not program in PHP, so I am having trouble fixing this script. I would immensely appreciate anyone with PHP experience to take a look at the script. I have posted it here: http://www.polovin.com/PEAR/PEAR.phps (this is not the site/server which is experiencing the problem though). I have also tried to upload the latest PEAR.php release (v 1.97) but it does not solve the problem. Thanks for your help Rowan P.

    Pear

I am on shared hosting, so I do not have access to the PEAR libraries. I have checked my error log, and do not see any errors relating to the script. Thanks.

    Pear

Hi All I am receiving the following error when I run a certain cron process for a PHP mail script that I am using: "Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class pear in /home/.../public_html/mail/PEAR.php on line 83" This problems does not seem to be related to the mail script, but to the PEAR package itself. I had never encountered this problem until there was an issue with Zend Optimizer on my site's server. When that problem was solved by technical support, I started receiving this error. Does anyone have any suggestions as how to solve the problem? Thank you rowanp.
  19. Hi How do I make a request for SOAP::Lite for Perl (http://soaplite.com/) to be installed on my server? Regards Rowan P.
  20. Great. Thanks for your help David. rowanp.
  21. Hi I am installing "Gallery" from Sourceforge onto my site and it told me that the 'register_globals' is enabled on my server and it poses security threats. Is this true? Should it be disabled? Regards rowanp.
  22. Hi We are planning a Google Adwords campaign, and I was wondering whether AWstats could be used to track our ROI. I read somewhere that this can be done but am not sure how. Any suggestions? regards rowanp.
  23. Hi I have created a MySQL database, and am trying to integrate it with a perl script I have written. Everything works up to the line, DBI->execute($sql) or die "Couldn't add to db " . DBI->errstr;. After that there is a blank out. What could be the problem? Here is the script: #!/usr/bin/perl use DBI; print "Content-type: text/html\n\n"; $database="cpanelusername_*******"; $user="cpanelusername_******"; $passworddata="*****"; $host="localhost"; $dbh = DBI->connect("DBI:mysql:$database:localhost","$user","$passworddata") or die "Couldn't connect to database: " . DBI->errstr; if($dbh) { print "Inside the database"; my ($db) = @_; $sql="INSERT into cc_details (date,order_amount,card_num,card_exp_mon,card_exp_year,street1,street2,city,prov,post code,tel_num,bill_email,card_name,order_num) values ('$db{'date'}','$db{'order_amount'}','$db{'card_num'}','$db{'card_exp_mon'}','$db{'card_exp_year'}','$db{'street1'}','$db{'street2'}','$db{'city'}','$db{'prov'}','$db{'post_code'}','$db{'tel_num'}','$db{'bill_email'}','$db{'card_name'}','$db{'order_num'}')"; DBI->execute($sql) or die "Couldn't add to db " . DBI->errstr; }
  24. I suppose they check your IP and send you a localized version of their website if one exists. This is the same when they place localized results within their "normal" results. Those localized pages only got there because Google thought they would appeal to you. What I find interesting is that Google hosts all their localized sites, for instance google.co.za, in the US. This means that Google should not object to me hosting my South African site in the US, if I want my site to appeal to South Africans. rowanp.
