  1. The problem is - I have 3 geocities with Google PR 5, and 4 geocities with Google PR 4. Every (even including a French, very cute, flash-based) SE sees these sites just right. The only problem, and persistent, I have with Yahoo!(!!!). Yahoo reads only one site - 5PR with an extensive DMOZ listing. The rest are invisible to it - even though a month ago I did a little testing , and registered one of them with yahoo's internal (geocities) directory. Result is the same - nowhere to be seen. So it looks like a discrimination. Now why would Yahoo not be able to return a literal string such as a phone number from a site with PR 4? And besides, my point specifically was that they do not answer my complaints. It's as if my (their) feedback forms are being redirected to "black hole" destination. secret niche
  2. Complaint to BBB follows - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I believe that Yahoo for some reasons ignore web sites on Geocities (bought and owned/operated by Yahoo). A real reason why I'm submitting this complaint to BBB is that their offices keep ignoring not only web sites, but my complaints, too. They have never answered any of them. I want to receive a formal letter from yahoo's offices with explanations of such rude and unfriendly behaviour. Respectfully, George Doudy. My formal complaints to yahoo help desk follow - ------------------------------------------------------ I was searching for "Dillard Georgia rivervista" Your engine did not return this obvious result - http://www.geocities.com/atlanta_sauna2004/ Is it because yahoo ignores its own (geocities) sites? Probably yes, because nobody ever answers these feedback forms, too. atlanta_sauna2004@yahoo.com Hi, there! Your engine was not able to return a simple phone number listed 2 (!) months ago at this location - http://www.geocities.com/atlanta_sauna2004/sample_index.htm Does that mean that you for obvious reasons KEEP IGNORING geocities pages (This is my 4th complaint re geocities search by yahoo results. Not a single one was answered, either.) I will send a copy of this complaint to a BBB office. Best Regards, George Doudy glossary101@yahoo.com ------------------------------------------------------- Yahoo! 4. Thank you all! So as you say, TCH-Don, operator AND is supported here. We could use OR and ( , too. Can you share some more details? Well, I'll just test it myself and see what happens. And since you guys are so friendly and helpful - could you give me some feedback. I've bought hosting from you this week Sunday, and my web site is in the process of raw building. However, I've noticed that the colors (although, supposedly web-friendly 33,66,cc and so on) while look nice on my computer, look just terrible on some others. Is it me, or some monitors are not good? Can you check my index page and returm your valuable opinion, please? URL is - http://www.secret-niche.com/ Thanks in advance, secretniche
  5. NP. Glad to have found this host. So it pays to do a little research first. Keep up the good work! secret-niche
  6. Yes, Mike. Your search works like a clock! This time I was checking it with a key word - "specialty" (9 characters), and it returned me a bunch of specialty-related texts. Wonderful. Does it support regular expressions, too? Would be nice. secret-niche
  7. Well, I have found that search - high on top of the page. Sorry. Now, I've tried to perform a search using key word - "msn" - in all forums, titles only. And that's what I've found - "This menu has been disabled " ? secret-niche
  8. Hi! This forum is really busy and helpful. We can even use some search facilities here to accomodate a quick locating of specific topics and issues. It will help a lot. I may be wrong (just third day with this host, but overall the services are top quality so far), and I should look around to find it somewhere in the corner of the forum, among the janitor's brooms and dusty mops. Silly me! Please, forgive me, for I'm new here, and only want to be helpful. secret-niche
