  1. Thanks, Rick...I submitted a ticket.
  2. I do have the SMTP Authorization Required checked. I've also tried port 26. Using any combination of IP (66.235.xxx.yyy) or mail.**** in the SMTP server location will not work. Any thoughts would be very, very much appreciated. I'm using "mybox+****" as my username login (and also for the SMTP authentication). Is that correct?
  3. Still same problem. Settings: both POP3 and SMTP set to IP Addr (66.235.xx.zzz), SMTP port set to 26, SMTP requiring authorization.
  4. Ok, thanks Annie, I did that, but it still reports the same error message when testing settings. What about the SMTP setting; that seems to be the problem.
  5. Thanks, Bruce. Unfortunately, our previous mail servers (with the same names), are not responding either. Huh?
  6. We pointed Network Solutions to our new TCH DNS yesterday and 24 hours later, our web and ftp addresses are fully resolved. However, email is not working. When I set up the Outlook account and test it, I get "Unable to logon to the outgoing mail server (SMTP). Please verify your SMTP server and - if your SMTP server requires authentication - the authentication information on the 'More Settings' page." Well, my settings all seem to be correct. Both my POP3 and SMTP servers are set to "mail.****" and I have checked the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" (also "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"). Should it take longer for email to resolve itself? I thought resolving sort of happened at the same time. Thanks, everyone.
  7. Thanks, Don. On our current ftp site, we have given out usernames such as "don". Now, I see that cPanel is requiring the addition of "@mysite.com" to the username for login. Is there any way to avoid this? Otherwise, we'll have to notify all of our users to change their usernames.
  8. Thanks Robert. Somewhat of a different question here... Our site will have TONS of ftp folders (2 per client) and I'd like to keep them separate from our html stuff. Can I create a folder named "ftp_data" (for example) and then add sub-folders off that. The tree would look like this: public_html |__ftp_data |__client1 |__client2 |__client3, etc. When I enter new ftp info in cpanel, it seems to default to a folder off public_html. Is there a way to change that?

  10. Ok. I'm going to move the DNS pointers today. I'm mostly concerned with email being down. The existing host will stay up for about a week per your instructions. BTW, I assume our ftp files go in the "public_ftp" folder? Thanks for all your help, guys, it's really appreciated.
  11. Just thought of something else...since the transfer doesn't actually take place until NSI changes its name server info, I could have the site all ready to go prior to Friday evening. Then, alert them to the change Friday evening and let the change propogate from that point. Right?
  12. Thanks for the quick reply, Rob. We do not have cPanel, but use wsFTP_Pro regularly. I do have a copy of the files needed for the site on my hard drive, so that part of the migration should be pretty easy. Also, we do not use databases, so that's a non-issue. Since it can take up to 72 hours, I guess I'd prolly do the migration Friday evening and hope for the best. Do I notify NSI or do you guys take care of that?
  13. Nothing personal, guys, but those of us less savvy need more help. I've got a domain registered with Network Solutions and am currently hosted on a partner's machine. Step-by-step, can you describe how I should migrate with the least amount of email or ftp downtime. Also, how much downtime should I plan for? Thanks
