  1. I added this to my pages and it increased the load time. How do I check to see if this is turned on on server 58?
  2. I am looking for a mailing list for my troop. I have tested the list that comes in Cpanel, but do not like that one. I tried Dadamail, but aside from not getting it to work correctly, it did not provide what I needed. Here is what I am looking for. 1. Allow multiple groups 2. Will only allow admin or very select group to send messages. 3. Will check for duplicate addresses. 4. Will provide a list of bounces 5. Has a sign up area 6. Has an opt-out feature 7. Free!! - We are a non-profit Boy Scout Troop after all. Not asking for much right? Anybody have some suggestions?
  3. I did not get a response on this post, so I decided to try a different script. The one that is provided through TCH cpanel did not have this problem, and the one I decided to use ListMessenger did not have this problem. I have not been able to figure out why Dada mail did?
  4. When do you plan to add phpwiki to all of the servers?
  5. Thank you. I have been to that spot over a hundred times in the last month and I never saw it, but I did see the line below saying that you could use phpmyadmin to edit them.
  6. Is phpmyadmin in cpanel for server 58? I have seen several posts referring to phpmyadmin in cpanel, but cannot find it? I have installed it personally, but was wondering if it was on all of the servers or if it was like phpwiki and only on a few servers?

    Subdomains

When you creat the subdomain, it is really a folder under the public directory. In front page, you just create the same folder under the main web and when you upload information in that folder, it will also be available through the sub domain name. You think you could also creat a seperate web under frontpage and upload directly to the subdomain, but I prefer to have it all in one web in frontpage.
  8. I am trying to set up a mailing list manager that allows people to opt in. I thought I would try Dada Mail because I saw in recomended in another post on these forums. The install seemed to work well, but I did a test to myself and my numerous emails, and received this error. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: "name replaced"@bellsouth.net SMTP error from remote mailer after MAIL FROM:<ndycnua@server58.totalchoicehosting.com> SIZE=2343: host mx01.mail.bellsouth.net [205.152.59.33]: 550 The sender domain must have a valid MX record. I am assuming that I do not have something setup correctly, because I know that the email address is valid.
  9. I want to clarify after my last post. I did not mean to say that it had to be "pron" sites that they were visiting. I have had to help many people with this problem as well, some were innocuous, most were not. My wife has this problem all the time, and I know that it is because she knows very little about computers and will click on links that she should not. They dump info on the computer that I have to clean when I get home. I have helped several friends, however, who thought that it was impossible that someone from their house was visiting "pron" sites. After installing a monitoring software (I have a corporate version that is a packet sniffer that costs mega bucks that I let them use for a few weeks to see what is going on) they realize that so things were going on that should not. My prefered method is to monitor, not block, but there is software that will do both that may be worth a look if there are kids in the house.
  10. Madmanmcp is right. He implied that someone was visting I AM A SPAMMER sites on that computer and that is where they are coming from. It is not always I AM A SPAMMER sites, but someone from your brother-in-laws house is visiting sites they should not. If it is your brother-in-law, tell him to run the AdAware and spybot after visiting these sites before rebooting the computer. That should catch most of these before it becomes a problem. If they have kids in the house, I would recommend installing a monitoring software or a software to block those sites.
  11. I waited as long as I could, but can't stand it any more. How could you not eat the cantoloupe. Get them nice and cold, with a little salt on a hot summer day. Nothing better. But I am from the south and got them and watermelons out of the garden. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.
  12. Me and another member struggled to get html file upload up and working through this tread http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...wtopic=8560&hl=. I had everything working, and tested it several times. I got a message from one of my users this morning saying that it was not working now. I had not made any changes! I don't know what happened. Here is the error recorded in the error log. [Wed Apr 7 07:40:34 2004] [error] [client 65.196.182.99] File does not exist: /home/ndycnua/public_html/500.shtml [Wed Apr 7 07:40:34 2004] [error] [client 65.196.182.99] Premature end of script headers: /home/ndycnua/public_html/photos/cgi-bin/upload.cgi Here is the message on the error page. Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@bsatroop98.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/1.3.29 Server at www.bsatroop98.org Port 80 Any help on what would have happened?
  13. I know it is more complicated, but I know of several people that have two paypal accounts, one that will accept credit cards and one that will not. The account that does not accept credit cards does not get charged the 2.9%. Some of the people I know have two links set up that will take them to different pages depending on how they plan to pay.
  14. I would not recomend tying it to a single computer. If you look at aMember Pro version, it helps reduce the password sharing that you talk about. Take a look at this and see if it will do what you need. It does cost $140. They offer a free version, but it does not include protections against password sharing. http://cgi-central.net/scripts/amember/
  15. I had to go through a simular situation when I moved my wife's domain to TCH. It took three weeks of calling and badgering the old domain holder to get it released. They also wanted to make me resign with them for another year, but it was not in the contract when I signed up. I finally had to talk to the president of the domain service to get it resolved. Good luck. You are in for some frustrating times ahead.
  16. I had some problems with this as well, so I am no expert, but I think you need to change the following. $dir = "/home/cpanel login name/public_html/kiwwa/"; - I think you have too many "s Take out the redirect for now. I had several problems with that and found it easier to leave that out until I worked out the other problems. Try that and see what it does.
  17. In order for AMember to work correctly, you have to edit the .htaccess files. If done correctly (per instructions), you cannot access the "protected" folder by just typing in the url. If you would like to test this, you can try www.bsatroop98.org/photos. I have this folder protected through Amember. You can also try www.bsatroop98.org/photos/pictures which is a subfolder of photos. You will recieve a popup box requesting you user name and password to gain access. You will also see the text that was set up "Troop 98 Members".
  18. This script seems to be working fine for the most part, but I did find one problem that I don't know how to fix. I made a small change to the script to change the number that could be uploaded at one time from 2 files to 10 files. That change works fine, but if there is an error in any of the 10 files (ie, one of the files is too large), it returns an error for the one file but does not upload the other 9 files. Is there someway to correct this? The user that recieved the error thought that the other 9 files were uploaded because he did not recieve and error on them.
  19. I found the mistake. I had $domain = "www.bsatroop98.org"; when it should have been $domain = "bsatroop98.org"; The script works great. I had to modify it to do more than 2 files at a time, but that was easy. Thanks for the help. Rock Sign
  20. I changed the permission on the .cgi file and retried. I received this error. Invalid referrer.
  21. I looked in the error log and this entry was there. error: file is writable by others: (/home/ndycnua/public_html/photos/cgi-bin/upload.cgi) Mean something to you?
  22. I made those changes and this is the result. Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@bsatroop98.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. 23. I just got aMember up and running. It looks like it would do what you want. Do you have a reason not to use aMember? The paid version looks really nice, but I am using the free version and I think it would work.
  24. I am just trying to set up a page where members could upload pictures as well. I have tried several different scripts, but they all fail. I do not get any real error messages, they just will not upload the pictures. Could this be because I have modified the .htaccess for aMember? If not, is there something I need to change? I have the permissions of the folder to post to set at 777. Here is the information from the .cgi file. $dir = "/home/ndycnua/public_html/photos/pictures"; $folder = "http://www.bsatroop98.org/photos/pictures"; $max = 500; $domain = "www.bsatroop98.org"; $redirect = "/localhost/photos/index.html"; $notify = 'kajoiner@bsatroop98.org'; $send_mail_path = "/ndycnua/sbin/sendmail"; $smtp_path = "mail.bsatroop98.org";
