  1. I have got my website to redirect from examplesite.com to www.examplesite.com with this code: And I found this code to redirect from www.examplesite.com/index.html to www.examplesite.com : I've been using the first one already and was wanting to also implement the second one, but didn't want to do it wrong and there is something I read about looping which means longer load time?? How do I write it to insert into .htaccess for it to work properly. If you paste the code, could you put it into quotes so I can just cut and paste. I have been searching for this answer for some time now and can never get a straight answer or solution. I don't think I'm being penalized by any search engines, but I do get two different PR values from Google for each. I'd just like to get everything redirecting to www.examplesite.com. Thanks!
  2. this was your overall plan, to get me in here playing games:) just...can't....resist old
  3. Actually, with this restore, I'm seeing a later backup. With last restore, I had lost everything back up to somewhere in early September. With this restore I see everything restored up to a day before the server went down the first time. Can't figure that one out. Just wish I hadn't stayed up all last night bringing everything up to date after the first outage. With this restore, I only have two pages to upload. Thanks TCH. I was dreading all day over working on all of that again tonight. Shh, did someone say angels?? Edit: In essence, don't take for granted that this is the same backup as the previous. You may have much less work in the mill to do. ~Best of Luck to the 27 Gang~
  4. Thank you Bruce. No harm done - 20/20 Too many of you bigwigs in here watching this thread. Now, shewww and get back to more important things I'll head on over to the new post and worry:D Thanks again!
  5. I am a worrier by nature, as you all have have come to realize, I'm sure . Was just looking for a way to keep track of what is going on. Again, I appreciate the post being opened.
  6. Thank you dear sir. Was directing that at HEADGURU as a whole... you are the boss, right? Did not mean to single you out. Sorry for that. I appreciate your opening the post.
  7. I have done this, but would like to know what an estimate of "as quickly as possible." is. Are we talking hours, days, weeks? Just looking for some sort of time estimate so I can move on to other things if I know nothing can be done with the site for awhile....
  8. I realize TCH probably wishes to keep this issue quiet for your sakes, but please keep us updated somehow on what is going on with server 27. It's not even showing in server stats now. My website has been up maybe several hours in the last 48 hours. Is there somewhere we can monitor this, if only for the people on Server 27? I'm sure it would be easier for you all to post somewhere instead of answering tickets from the 72 websites on that server. When can we expect the server to be active again? Just some suggestions. P.S. HEADGURU - Instead of just removing this post like the last one, which somehow seemed rude considering the issues we are facing, how about a resolution this time for your clients....
  9. Don, Trying to understand - what exactly does Œ“?«Ã·©?˜¿‡“«±Ìª?¥ do through the form? Are there instructions somewhere to test a form for vulnerability?
  10. Great discussion on this issue. I believe I finally understand
  11. Thanks all. I'm working on using another one supplied by a fellow member of the forum. I appreciate all of your help.
  12. www.dtheatre.com/scripts/formmail.php
  13. so basically what I'm seeing is that the form is sending the email, just not sending any information along with it.
  14. I've updated the scripts, but still not working. Any suggestions?
  15. It's been ages since I set up this script for our contact page (http://www.bluegrassgardens.com/contact.html). I have been noticing a lot of "form submission" emails being forward to our main email address lately and am trying to figure out what is going on. I just tested it and NO contact mail is being forwarded on to us. Just the blank "form submission" emails. I have updated the page a few times with FrontPage, so therein could be the cause. Or I was wondering if I have done something in the control panel that could affect the script and what it could be. I haven't touched any of that code manually since I made that page and frankly, I have forgotten how the whole thing works. All I remember was that it was a pain in the butt to get it all working correctly. I believe there are several differeant scripts working together here. You might be able to tell better than I if you look in the source. The sendit.php (http://www.bluegrassgardens.com/sendit.php) looks like it maybe shouldn't be doing what it's doing, but I don't know if it's supposed to do that or not when you access it directly. Just looking for a little help here to see if I can get these scripts working correctly again. Appreciate any help......
  16. Hi Andy, I appreciate you answering my post. This issue seems to be cleared up, seems like my cousin decided to play a practical joke on me and screw with my files. I've changed my password so he won't be causing any alarm anymore. Thanks again for everyone's time.
  17. I was wondering, what's the best way to get access to FTP Logs. I tried to go through the cpanel and i'm getting a window that pops up that says "530 Authentication failed, sorry". Tried to FTP and also get error. Someone hacked my website so i'm trying to get some idea of when it was done and if anything was transferred to the server. My main website is down at the moment, though I have no idea if these are related. Oh, another question...is "Allow anonymous FTP" a default through cpanel. I just checked and saw that the button was clicked and know I would have never done that. And I'm also having problems with my stats on my website not updating. This has happened almost every other month. Let's see....I think that is about it. Hope someone has some answers. Thanks
  18. I'm working on a database driven site that I would like to have pages served by which state the user is in solely based on their IP address when they come to the site. Can anyone nudge me in the right direction? I'd like to do it with PHP if possible. Thanks!
  19. Alright...I got it figured out. Wasn't adding the "" before the "_script".
  20. In addition, I'm installing this on a subdomain. Would this cause any problems?
  21. I've been playing around with a script, or at least trying to. And it asks for the path to the database server: Hostame or IP-address of the database server -The database server can be in the form of a hostname, such as db1.myserver.com, or as an IP-address, such as 192.168.0.1. OK. Usually, the scripts I try out just ask to enter: localhost or something to that effect. So what should I enter? I tried using localhost and a couple of other suggetions, but this script isn't accepting anything. Any ideas?
  22. You know how you go to some framed sites and they have a "if this person's browser doesn't support frames send them to the no-frames site"... Would it be possible to do this sort of thing for people that don't have flash installed? Or is it even worth worrying about. If so, what would be involved? Your thoughts???
  23. I think I've pretty much given up on the EntropySearch (hate that though, cause it was so simple to get running with it). Nothing in the cgi-bin but randhtml.cgi, whatever that is? I'll give the FastFind a try and see how that goes. I like the features in it
  24. As far as that goes, I believe I like the looks of the FastFind. I will be investigating that further. Also just for reference, I am having a problem with the EntropySearch on our site with our Flash Logo. It wasn't custom made and is sometimes a pain to work with. It takes three files to keep that darn thing going and they all have to be in the same folder. I just can't find out which folder EntropySearch is running out of so I can stick the text file in there. Ideas??
  25. I ran a search through Yahoo this morning for - pink flowering dogwood - and one of the results (4) was a bit off base compared to what I was looking for. These sorts of sites interest me in the fact that I know what they are doing must be considered "illegal" search-wise, but I'm trying to figure out how the sites are placed so high when there is no relevant content, or ANY content for that matter, whatsoever on the page other than an affiliate link hidden in the source. And the URL that the search engine shows for the page isn't the URL that the result resolves to. Is this "Cloaking" or some other trick used to fool the search engines? And if it is, why would someone spend so much time making all of those useless pages if it's only a matter of time before they are banned from the search engines? I'm sorry, things like this just have me wanting to understand the intricacies of it all. Could sites like this help you understand better how the search engines read pages, or are you not seeing what the seacrh engine sees? Hope I'm not confusing anyone. I originally got on here this morning just to post and ask a question about EntropySearch, and you can see how far off track I've gotten. About the EntropySearch deal. I used the search on the forums and google and could find nothing about it other than the fact that it's really not all that customizable. Is it not? I have things coming up in the search on our page that I don't want there and am not sure I should delete them from the site because I don't even know if they are used by other installed software. What to do? I may just dump it for now until I can find a better alternative. Anyone have any luck using this on their site? BTW...If this is not the right place for this post, please feel free to move Brian
