  1. I can link to the /sqmail login page okay but I'd like to have the login screen as part of a main page. I tried to copy the source code and paste it into a main page but it doesn't work and I don't understand HTML enough to see where the problem is. Is there login code available that I can cut and paste into a main web page? Jerry
  2. This is SO much better than Neomail. Another example of adding value. Thanks Bill. Jerry
  3. I just downloaded email-remover and that is a nifty program. The next time this problem happens, I'm going to try that first. Thanks to all. I love this service! Jerry TCH Stones
  4. Thanks Rick. It's working a-okay. Was there something I could have done to delete the file? (Not that I don't LOVE your support!) Thanks, Jerry
  5. Okay, I'm ready to delete the email but I can't sign-in to web-mail. It just hangs. That's part of the problem. I can get into File Manager in Cpanel though. Any idea how to navigate to the right file using File Manager? Jerry
  6. I can send mail (SMTP) but not receive it (POP3). The problem only occurs on one account and I've deleted and reset the account in Outlook. Other accounts on this same domain work, so I know it's not a general problem. It's specific to this one email account. In CPanel, I reset the password but that didn't fix it. My next thought is to delete the account in CPanel and reset the email account from scratch. Now, here's my question: If I delete the email account and reset it, will all the existing, not-yet-received, emails be deleted? How can I save the existing emails? Thanks, Jerry
  7. I just love this forum. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm sending mail through the TCH mail server to an ATTbi account. If I use Outlook, I can send okay to the ATTbi address. When I use Goldmine, the mail gets the "550" block. I'm positive the email settings are the same on my Outlook and Goldmine. I can send to any other email address using Goldmine, so I know Goldmine is set correctly. At this point, I think ATTbi is blocking it and I'm going to take leezard's advice and call ATTbi tech support. Jerry
  8. I'm sending an email using Goldmine Contact Management software and I get a "550" error from the host server (TCH) when trying to send mail to an attbi.com address. It's blocking the mail from being sent. Here's the weird part: I can send mail to other clients using Goldmine and Outlook. No problem. How can I find out where this particular mail is being blocked? By ATTbi? By TCH mail server? By my ISP? My guess is that ATTbi is blocking it but why would they care since I'm not a threat of relaying on their server? And if they are blocking it, how come I can send using Outlook? I'm stumped. Thanks, Jerry Presley
  9. WOW! This forum is terrific. I have the exact same issue and with a little search, found the answer to my question right here. TCH is providing a lot of value through this board. Put me down as a reference! Jerry
  10. "Is your question in regards specifically to resellers and limiting their resold accounts?" Hi Li, Yes, I'm mostly concerned about resold accounts, where a reseller does not have control, other than through Terms of Service. Please move the topic. My concern is that because a number of resellers and their clients use the same IP address, if any of us on a shared server are ever unlucky enough to get a spammer as a client, it's bad for all of us because we share the same IP address. It's the IP address that will get blacklisted. What I'm suggesting is to limit the number of emails that can be sent to some reasonable number that would only impact the professional spammer. Someone sending out 100 or even 500 emails per day is not going to be a real spammer, that's just a small company. The problem is if someone has a list with 100,000 or 500,000 names. That will get us all blacklisted. Am I off base? Is this something that we should be concerned about? Thoughts please?
  11. I'm becoming paranoid. Hotmail recently limited the number of outgoing messages that a user can send out to 100 per day. http://www.msnbc.com/news/890012.asp I think setting a limit is a good way to prevent a professional spammer from signing up for a domain and using it to send out spam messages. A risk we all face is if one of our clients sends Spam on the shared server. The Spam Police will then put our shared IP address on their blacklist and email from anyone using the shared server will get blocked. Yikes! 1) Does anyone else see this as a potential risk? and 2) Is it possible to set a limit per day on the number of email's a domain can send out using Web Host Manager? Jerry
  12. Okay, I found another whois script, this time in perl. Now I need to edit a line of code in one of the files: "cc_whois.cgi" file: edit the very first line of this file. Change it to point correctly to your web server's Perl interpreter. It's usually in this format: #!/usr/bin/perl or #!/usr/local/bin/perl If you are not sure about this, please verify with your web host administrator. Where's the "perl intrepreter"? I'm not giving up. Jerry
  13. I love this forum! Thanks, Jerry
  14. Thanks, but it didn't work. I actually don't have a file to upload. The instructions say to type: "tar -xvf /usr/local/contrib/whois.tar" in the "home directory" and this will magically "install the query.pl and util.pl files into your www/cgi-bin/library/whois directory. " I'm still stumped how to telnet in... or is there another way to get this done? Thanks again, Jerry
  15. I need to add a "whois" cgi script to my web site. The instructions can be found at: http://webmasterschoice.com/support2/addon...p/cgilib/whois/ Trouble is, I use Front Page, I'm not a "real" webmaster and I can't follow the instructions on telneting in to the server to add the cgi script. Here is part of the instructions: a. Telnet or SSH to your Virtual Server. b. change directories to your home directory (type "cd" and hit return) c. type "tar -xvf /usr/local/contrib/whois.tar" This will install the query.pl and util.pl files into your "www/cgi-bin/library/whois" directory. How do I telnet in? How do I navigate to the right directory? Thanks. Jerry Presley
