  1. Best I can figure out TCH and Blogger are not compatible at all. Blogger does not support active FTP, only SFTP. TCH does not support Blogger's SFTP. (There is some whacko work around to get an SFTP client to work, apparently, but not Blogger's.) Now, having said that, I should point out that I have not actually tried it yet. As soon as my domain name gets connected to my TCH account, I am going to give it a try, but I'm not holding out hope. I use LiveJournal for my day to day journaling and you might consider that. No hosting needed. (It is free but you might need a code to join... if you do, feel free to use 6rnm5aaa489r - http://www.livejournal.com.) Oh and logos... I know they are somewhere... I found them yesterday under a link calld Ads... but I can't find them now. Sorry. ooops found them: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/adimages.htm
  2. Ohhh! Wow. Cool!! Ok.... off to help ticket land. THANKS!! Rock Sign
  3. Hi Jim, I'm confused about submitting a help ticket. What could you guys help with? I think everything is all set up correctly but it hasn't been 72 hours yet so the poagation hasn't yet finished. I sure don't expect you to be able to speed up the internet... Or is the 0.0.0.1 a big red flag and now I should be really worried??
  4. The domain name (susandennis.org) that I'm moving from old host to TCH is now showing an ip address of 0.0.0.1. I changed the DNS servers on Wednesday afternoon at the registrars. (But I didn't think to 'release' it from the old hosting company until last night although I'm not sure that matters.) Is the 0.0.0.1 thing normal? Is that kind of proagation code for 'we're moving'? 72 hours is a loooooong time - especially when you are old like me. waiting.... waiting... waiting... I need a smilie with a tapping foot.
  5. Thank you! BooBoo is 19?! Wow. I've set up a lot of websites on a lot of different hosts. But, I have to say that I've never quite seen anything like the support, response, tools and tips that TCH offers. It's really pretty amazing. And there is so much that I'm keeping fairly amused while waiting for the propagation to finish... Will it ever finish? I'm old, I haven't got that much time left... waiting, waiting, waiting.... Guess I'll go watch some more TCH movies. Jake and Betty send catnit to BooBoo...
  6. I'm adding a 'what happened' post here because as a newbie, I've spent a lot of time wandering through these forums and have discovered that many threads are ending with 'please submit a help ticket'. You never get to find out what happens and how maybe to prevent it happening to me! So... I did submit a help ticket and had to have TCH reset my FP extensions. They did and told me to go watch the FP movie before I posted. Well, honestly, I've been doing websites since before IE. I've been using FP since it first came out. I'm now on FP 2003, the beta... I need to watch a movie??!!! But, heck, while I'm waiting for DNS to propagate (and is there anything slower???), I figured what the heck. What I discovered that the movies are really kind of cool. And the FP one showed me that instead of doing the usual publish to http:..... I need to do an ftp publish when using the IP address (which I have to use because I'm not yet propagated... sigh...) So I followed the movie step by step and duh... it worked! Old dog, new tricks, yadda yadda ... that's the story. Rock Sign
  7. You may have cracked the case! I went to uninstall the extensions and got: ------------------- Attempting to remove Frontpage extenstions ...... No Server found Frontpage extensions are currently: installed ------------------- So... I'm thinking there's something fooey with my extensions. I submitted yet another trouble ticket. I'm going to get a really bad reputation about TCH HQ. I hope they don't excommunicate me. Once I get everything set up, I promise to be good.
  8. I found this on the TCH help page: Problems publishing with FP Some people have encountered problems publishing with Front Page. The Head Guru has indicated that there is a bug with FP 2000. Here is what he wrote: "You can not publish to HTTP and a IP address in Frontpage 2000 or back. It will only publish to FTP. Once your domain name resolves and is fully propagated it will upload just dandy. This bug was corrected in FP 2002 but persists in FP 2000 and earlier. Simply put, you have to FTP until your domain propagates." But, I am not able to publish to my new IP address with Frontpage 2002. I get the error that says I have no extensions although I sure do according to the Control Panel. This means that I will have to wait until the domain name resolves to get a clean publish. FTP is not a good alternative to FP publishing... This is not so good when you are moving a site. It means no chance of a smooth transition. But, otherwise, so far... Rock Sign
