  1. thanks for all the replied guys, I did try the way cerealkeeler explained. But then I learned that any image posted on my forums or link to an image would also pop-up a login/password prompt... thanks to all of you now I know of 3 ways to fix my problem. I definitely liked your way Wilexa. That's exactly what I was looking for. Disable the browsing of my files, but still be able to post images on my forums or on my site without the pop prompt. btw, let me ask you this...say I create a folder (i.e "cars") and it would be something like this... http://www.jscfan.com/cars/ would I be the only one to know of that directory or can anyone else browse it without me telling anyone about it...just curious. thanks guys for all the help! 2. Got a quick question. Is there a way for me to disable my images folder from being viewed like a back door to all my files? I hope that makes sense... i.e. If you click on this url you can see most of my files and folders... http://www.jscfan.com/images/ well how do I disable this from happening? Like maybe show a "An Error or You're not allowed" page, I dunno something like that. I hope I made sense... thanks!
  3. ok, cool thanks for the reply there Jim.
  4. Got one simple question. When does my "Bandwidth usage" meter start all over again? Is it the 1st of every month or the day I signed up which in my case it's the 3rd?
  5. sweet, so I still got a whole lots to go before 80% used...lol thanks again for the calrification! Rock Sign
  6. I currently have the Silver plan I believe (500MB, 10GB bandwidth) and I have a question regarding my bandwidth usage on cpanel. OK, right now I have somewhere around 94.0+MB used this month, how many more do I have till I even hit my limit? I know my site is not even 5% done since I only have an intro page... Am I right when I say that 10240MB = 10GB? So does 10240.00MB will show on my cpanel when I'm about to go over my limit?
  7. yeah man I got your email right when I got home. Thanks again guys for all your replies and help.
  8. Jim, I was able to login after I figured it out that the username is "admin" and it worked fine with my cpanel password. But I have a little problem, I didn't know I needed to let you guys know that I wanted my username to be: "alirio" instead of "admin" since the title Administrator is already under where the avatar would display. Please don't tell me I'm stuck with Admin as my username, can this be fixed please? I tried to see if I can change my username on my control panel of the forums, but no luck. I replied 2 times to Rick so I hope he is not mad at me. I'm sorry for giving you guys headaches.
  9. well I tried my cpanel username and pw and all I got was this Sorry, we could not find a member called jscfanc, are you sure it's correct? I'm gonna reply to my ticket now for my pw...
  10. thanks for the quick ticket response Rick and for installing it for me. That was very fast and I understood your notes makes alot of sense. Here's another question. Now that my forums are installed do I have to register to become an admin or am I waiting for an email with my username and password? I ask because I already see an admin member on there
  11. thanks Jimuni and I'm sorry for all the trouble. I followed all the steps and I don't know what went wrong. I've submitted the ticket with my explanation of what I want with the install just in case someone else besides you installs it for me. Thanks again. Thumbs Up
  12. well I created the folder like you stated in the public_html folder and when I go to install the forums I get the following message: "/home/jscfanc/public_html/forums already exists" I've never started a help ticket, where do I do that Jimuni and is there a fee for me starting a help ticket?
  13. ok, I have made a folder in File Manager named "forums". I didn't place it in the public_html folder. That ok, right? And I made my sub-domain "forums.jscfan.com". Now when I got to the install page of InvisionBoard 1.1.2 Setup. How come it's not installing it under my newly created sub-domain? Did I do something wrong? thanks in advance...
  14. thanks for the replies, really appreciate it. Jimuni I got a question about making the forum folder a sub domain so I can track it much closer. How do I do that? I'm sorry, but I have no idea how to do that...Do I just do the click install for the forums or do I have to do something else?
  15. I have a few questions about the free forums TCH offer. Here's a few so here we go... 1. I'm basically trying to get a general idea of what I'm about to encounter in regards to bandwidth and all when I install Invision. Like right now my current forums are free with ads (jscfan.proboards21.com). I currently have 50+ members and I think we average about 15-20 posts daily at this moment. I really don't know what the daily or monthly traffic is so I couldn't tell you that. With that info is there any way you can kinda of give me an idea on how much my bandwidth increase will be? 2. Is there a way I can install and have the forums set to private where I'm the only one that can view and access them, no one else but me. I ask this because I would like to work on them such as customizing it and getting it ready before I decide to make them live. Is this possible? 3. If for some reason I decide to not go with the forums even after I installed them, can I uninstalled them or place them offline without uninstalling them? I don't know why I would do this, but you never know. 4. In regards to custom skins, smilies and all. Do you guys offer support here @ TCH forums? In other words technical support for installation or any problems one encounters. Or would my best bet be at IBPlanet.com for any help with installs and stuff like that... That's all I can think of right now, but I'm pretty sure I will come up with some more. And if any other info or tips I should know or please let me know. Thanks in advance... Rock Sign
  16. oh lookey there, it works now...man the whole registering domain & signing-up process was very quick! Thumbs Up Rock Sign
  17. here is another question... during the domain propagation process (I already changed the DNS at godaddy to those on my welcome email) which I believe usually takes 24-72hrs. Is it normal to not see my free parked domain page from godaddy for my url? I now get a page cannot be found something like that... here is my domain: http://www.jscfan.com
  18. will do! You know I was wondering something, how come my username "jscfanc" ends with a letter c at the end? Just curious...
  19. well thank you so much for the prompt customer service cerealkeeler. I just got my final email "TCH: Order Complete" with all my info. I'm about to change my DNS at godaddy and I should be cooking up a sweet lookin site in no time... Thanks again for everyone that took their time to reply to all my questions. I will make sure to let all my friends know about TCH. Thumbs Up
  20. thank you so much Wilexa. it's been well over 12hrs and I still have no email.
  21. ok cool, that answers my question. I officially became a TCH Silver Plan member last night around 10-11p and I have only received 2 emails so far. Do you know how long till I get my Welcome email? I'm so excited I can't wait... woooot
  22. Thumbs Up great thanks for all the replies. Rock Sign Here's the last one, how long has TCH been in operations?
  23. thanks for the reply Jim. Got another question (sorry for asking to many of them, but I just want make sure and all). When I register my domain either thru godaddy or thru TCH if for some reason I move my site (along with my domain) somewhere else in the future. Is the only change I would need to make from my end to make the move official to any other hosting company is to change the nameservers on my domain management section?
  24. that info will be on the Welcome email I get from TotalChoice right? If I come up with more questions as I go I will post them. Thanks again! And I hope to be part of the TotalChioce family in the next few days...
  25. thank you so much for all the info and replies guys, I really appreciate it. And it's really nice to know that anytime you have a question there is always someone with the answers one last question, I'm about to register my domain with godaddy.com and once I do that is it really easy to set it up to where my domain will point to my new site with totalchoice? I don't know if asked the question correctly...
