ok cool I will look into those, thanks a bunch. I got one last question, say I do want to do all this from scratch. Is there any site you would recommend to show a step-by-step on how to creat a database. I know I'm asking for alot, but I would like to learn if possible. Thanks again...

hello tch, first off just want to point out that I'm a newbie at the whole website design and layout. I'm reading alot and trying to understand the whole website layout, but I'm a little lost on something. If someone can shed some light for me please... this is my current site... http://www.dvdstockpile.com/ it's a personal site with my collection of dvds and also a site to basically list all of the major upcoming dvds every tuesday. As you can see from the site its very plain and simple (still working on it and I know I have alot of work to do), so here is my question. How do I create a database? I barely know php or mysql (learning as we speak)... I'm trying to follow this tutorial here, but I'm lost... http://www.visualdesigncore.com/tutorials/...HP-News-System/ thanks in advance!

thanks again I will do that.

ok thanks for the reply. I did find my first email from tch and I did use the username and password thats on there, but still no luck. If I select new customer its still ok right? Thanks again...

I was going thru the Web Host Order Wizard to open up a new account for my new domain (www.dvdstockpile.com). And where it asks "Tell us who you are" I select "Add this order to my account" and it then asks for my email and password. Well what password is it talking about? I know my email of course, but I'm stuck please help...

oh ok, I guess I was just confused by the word "trial" meaning I guess it would expire and then I wouldn't be able to use them anymore unless I purchased a license. Cool, I try and start the install tonight...thanks again everyone, will post any issues I encounter, hopefully not any.
-
thank you so much for the info, will try the install tonight when I get home. I guess if I mess up a fresh reinstall of the forums would be the solution. Thanks again, will definintely post my problems here if I encounter any. I forgot one last question, I just went to that link and it states trial version. Since I'm at TCH and I guess they have the license shouldn't be able to install the full version for 1.3?

sorry for asking so many questions it's just that I've never done it myself and I want to make sure I ask before attempting anything. So I'm assuming I go to the IPB website download the latest version and go from there right? Or can I do the upgrade from TCH?

I'm using v1.1.2, is it easy to upgrade?

I'm getting a Warning error code when I'm in the viewing profile screen...this is what I'm getting: Warning: Division by zero in /home/jscfanc/public_html/forums/sources/Profile.php on line 192 what's causing this error? Any suggestions...I'm thinking of launching my forums live soon, please help...

hey thanks for the reply, I should of done a search before posting...haha I just found this in the help section and I updated it online... http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/billingpage.htm

I need to change my billing info (cc & billing address) and I need to change it so there is no conflict with my monthly payment and my site. I logged into my cpanel and can't find where to change my billing info...

Rob, thanks for the reply man. I really appreciate it. I totally understand on the install part. Glad to know that TCH is fully compatible with this system. That was one of my main concerns...I definitely got alot of reading to do, no doubt before I even begin this journey. Just to make sure I understand you correctly. So once I start the install myself, it's no problem for me to post my questions as well here for help. My first stop will definitely be XOOPS website along with their documention and forums for help. And one last thing Rob, in regards to the backup of my site. I've never done a backup before and I just logged into my cpanel and went under the Backup menu to take a look. I would Generate/Download a full backup of course, but can you briefly explain to me what the 3 destinations mean. I'm sorry for the dumb question, but I just want to make sure... Thanks again man... ok, this may turn out to be quite a long read...so I apologize before hand, but I just have some general questions about this content management system (XOOPS) I been looking into incorporating into my site. Now according to the software requirements [RL=http://wiki.xoops.org/wakka.php?wakka=XoopsRequirements]here[/url] I'm okay so far. Do you guys offer an installation at all? Or am I on my own with the installation? Say if for some reason I install the XOOPS and all and then for some reason I mess up or whatever, meaning I have no access at all to my site/cpanel or whatever. Can you guys reset my whole site again, is there a charge? What can you guys do if I mess up? This is text from the install guide at XOOPS site: I've never created a database, can you guys do one for me for my XOOPS installation? A few more questions...Anything else I should know about before I try this installation? Any advise...Do you guys know if any other site hosted here at TCH is using XOOPS... Thanks in advance for all the help! Rock Sign

are you guys getting the same error too then?

Hello TCH...these past few days I've noticed this error. When I'm in my File Manager and after I've uploaded an image all I get when I click on it to view it is a box with a red "x". Why is it doing this? For some reason I can't view my images anymore from the web...I haven't changed any settings or anything so I have no idea what causing this. I even tried to view them from my home pc thinking it was work pc or something and I still can't see the images...please help!

well I change the permission settings on my avatars folder to "755" from "550" like stated on following: To Allow Users to Use More Avatars, in Invision Power Board ---------------------------------------------------------------------- newer forum 1.1.2 goto forum/html/avatars/ change permissions of folder to 755 now upload your avatars to the folder. now when your user selects edit avatar settings in their CP and selects Pre-installed avatars, they will see all the uploaded avatars in all the folders you created. And I thought those were the steps to add an avatar gallery displaying all of them, but I guess not. And now I can't even see any of the avatar file names on the list. I keep getting these warning errors: Warning: opendir(/home/jscfanc/public_html/forums/html/avatars): failed to open dir: Permission denied in /home/jscfanc/public_html/forums/sources/Usercp.php on line 1134 Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home/jscfanc/public_html/forums/sources/Usercp.php on line 1135 Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home/jscfanc/public_html/forums/sources/Usercp.php on line 1142 I tried changing the avatars folder permission back to "550" and it's still not working. Please help...

thanks for the help Mike, that was easy...I changed the color and all, but I still can't find where I can place these titles "Moderator | Member" under all the users. one last question man on the Avatar section, how can I add a gallery with all the avatar displayed at the same time just like the ones you guys have it set up here @ TCH forums? thanks again Mike.
-
sorry if this is the wrong section to ask this question, feel free to move if necessary. I noticed that the forums here at TCH (this one) has the forums users color-coded to show who's a Member, Moderator or part of the staff. How can I activate that on my Invision forums?

Scott: Thanks for the link man, I'm gonna start reading it right now. Really appreciate it. sol3wgc: I totally understand your point, but see a friend of mine has a similar site like mine and what has happened is some other webmaster has created a similar site like his with all of his images on it. So this person took my friends images from his site and posted them all on his own site. Now that would really get me mad. I know you really can't stop anyone from getting your images by a click of the button. But there's always a way to give them maybe a few obstacles and make it a little much harder for them. So basically that's my reason of wanting to know this. Thanks again guys... Rock Sign

first off take a look at this webpage at this site (HotWheelsCollectors.com): http://www.hotwheelscollectors.com/communi...9%7D&justMine=c now here's my question, if I want to save the image of the 68 Nova from that site of course I right-click but then I notice that the image is redirected to an image file title "blank.gif". And it's not the image file of the Nova. How do they do that? What I mean is how do they re-direct the image to something else when someone right-clicks? I mean I know how to go around that by just looking in the source and finding the correct image url to save the pic. I'm just asking this because I would love to incorporate something exactly like that on my images when my site is launched. Can someone give me some info please... thanks!
