  3. ok, new question... "If you have selected "ImageMagick" or "NetPBM", enter path and program name" What's the path & program name? TIA ~Christy
  4. Thanks! ~Christy
  5. feel free to move this if it's in the wrong spot I'm trying to set up the 4images gallery. so far I have it uploaded and am now working on the set up. I've really never worked with MySQL before, so I'm kinda clueless at the moment. The set-up screen is asking for the following: Database server hostname I've created a database for it, but I don't know where to find the hostname info. Help please! TIA ~Christy
  6. Thanks! The / did the trick! ~Christy
  7. I've created header & footer PHP files, which reside on the 'main' bit of my site (not within a folder). When I try to reference them from a page within a folder, my images and links get confused. The links within that folder will have a duplicate folder name within the link, and it's looking for the images and links from the main area within that folder. (I hope that makes sense. If not, check the properties of the images, and look at the links on this page: http://www.dancers-tale.com/criosa/ ) All my files end with the .php. The 'command' for the php is: >> include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']."/footer.php"; << The header & footer are working fine on the main area of the site. Also, while I'm asking... is there a way to reference the header/footer.php files from a subdomain? I'm trying to integrate them into the gallery, and right now, they're just copy/pasted into the appropriate gallery files. Could somebody help me clear this up? Thanks! ~Christy
  8. Thanks! Yeah, I did install before the domain propagated. I was able to CHMOD the necessary files to get into the config, and just fixed it in there. No need to re-install. ~Christy
  9. so I'm finally motivated enough to get my photo gallery back in order, and I discover that it's showing the full path to the images/directories, instead of the subdomain's address. argh! Mad!!! it's at: http://photos.dancers-tale.com the links to the albums come up as http://server24.totalchoicehosting.com/~da...s/photos/random can anyone help me fix it? this is my first time using subdomains, so not sure if it's my error, or something with the Gallery program. Thanks! ~Christy
  10. Thanks guys! On to moving everything over, I guess! At least I know how to make updating simpler now! ~Christy
  11. thanks Tracy! I'll wait patiently to see if anyone else has a guess on this... ~Christy
  12. hmm... this is odd. I just uploaded it to my old host (where my domain is still pointing til I get the new version up or until my 2 "free" months run out), and it's working over there. do you think the fact that I'm not using my domain name yet has anything to do with it? is so, maybe I'll have to make a temporary directory for people to visit the old version til I get everything running... ~Christy
  13. wow, very helpful. THANKS! but I seem to be having issues... I tried doing the template thing like you explained, and I get this for my header & footer: >Warning: main(/usr/local/apache/htdocs/header.php) [function.main]: failed to create stream: No such file or directory in /home/dancers/public_html/my-page.php on line 2 Warning: main() [function.main]: Failed opening '/usr/local/apache/htdocs/header.php' for inclusion (include_path='') in /home/dancers/public_html/my-page.php on line 2 (replacing header.php with footer of course. =)) I copy/pasted the "include" line, removing the inc directory, since I did not put them into a seperate directory - is that necessary? any thoughts? tia. ~Christy
  14. Hi! I'm almost ready to sign up with TCH. I'm in the middle of a redesign of my site and wanted to get everything up and running here, while leaving the old design on the old host available until I've sorted out all the new toys TCH offers and made sure I've got it right. (I hope that makes sense!) I'm guessing I just leave the DNS servers pointing at the old host until I've got everything ready here. Is that right? TIA! ~Christy
