yeah i dont think im explaining very well. i need to upload all the files to make the phpbb3 work. I was told the best way to put these files up there is to do it thru cPanel and not just thru ftp. So i go to file mangager and i go to upload the files. but i have not found a way to upload an entire folder and i can unfortunately only see to find how to upload to the public_html one file at a time. other thatn that i understand how to do things(i thinkk) i just have to get the files in the public_html before i can take the next step and dont want to spend the whole day doing it one file at a time. And i have not found a tutorial to help me upload a folder...only a file

Is there a tutorial somewhere to do this. I can up load an individual file in the file manager but i want to upload the entire root(folder). But when i try it just has me going into the folder and not able to upload the whole root

well after a whle i think i relized my question.in my cPanel there is a file named forums. as the website has a white page (yes its still white) with a link to the forums. I searched everywhere to see how to put that link there and didnt find it in cPanel. All i did was create the database, so far. I thought i could just add the files to the cpanel in a new (created) folder and then just use the name that i named that folder in the url to do stuff. But i am not sure if that would actualy work or not. Last time i tied this i crashed my board so i thought i wouldwwait to ask

Ok im not sure what to do now unfortunately. So feel free to move this cause i dont know where to look for what i need. this is here cause i am looking for something, like a tutorial, but dont know where to look. this is what i am looking for...... i created the new database, but dont know how to put up the stuff needed to create the second forums. I looked thru the tutorials and had no luck. Now there is a current link on the main wesite that says "forums", and i want to use this with the new one when complete. I am upgrading from phpBB 2.0.22 to 3.0. So i have to set everything up on a new set of forums and then convert the database later. Well i want to use the same link on the website for i will only have one set of forums, but now that i have the database set up...do i just create a new folder in the cPanel and upload it?

I have searched but cant find what i am looking for. I am planning to upgrade my forums today but need to make sure that all is good on all fronts. Does TCH or my $4 a month plan meet these requirements?

Sorry to ask on this agin TCH-Thomas but its been a month and i still have heard nothing. i still cant post on the forums on my site from my phone and still wish to resolve this.

and is there a way to delet the whole folder on the ftp? cause i have to delete each folder seperately and the "delete directory" on the right click says the folder is not empty

i tried to add the database and now the original site is dead... critical error, cannot conect to the database

when setting up the database....what do i do? i was told what to do and dont remember. isnt some of the stuff to set up my cPanel acces?

Domain name = had no "www." on it Script path = had the ending slash Cookie Domain = was blank cookie name = was phpbb2mysql All else was same I changed what was mentioned in that post and it still doesnt work. This is something that is isolated to use from phones. My wife's 8125 cant do it either and hers has windows mobile. So i know its isolated to phones only and both phones have cookies enabled even after this change. Now Thomas, are you refering to another seperate forums file on the homepage and try using a un touched fresh download from phpbb? To do this do i just add another forums folder (named different) to the public_html folder?

is there any other light that can be shed on this? this is an important thing to me

i frequent close to 5-8 forums...this only happens on my forum. and this only happens to myslef using a phone. i dont know if it works to all phones since i am the ony person on my site that uses a phone. But the only place this happens is on my site oh and Treo 680

trying to post even with a fresh file from php wont allow me either

i can do just about everything on my phone. I just cant post on my forums. I can post on most all other forums. Not all tho. I probably could post here if i could remain logged in. But on these forums i am typing in right now...when i loggin, the redirect say i am logged in but when i am redirected...i am no longer logged in. What i plan to do today is get a copy of the fresh phpBB 2.0.22 files and see if puting them in can fix it oh and yes i can post from a computer...the only place that is effected is the phone

i hat to say it but i am not sure what i should do. On the ftp, i thought the forums rot had to be listed under public_html. I dont understand how to do this change or what i should be changed for that matter. Also how does this effect the fact that this problem only surfaces from a phone and not a normal computer?

oh thats what you meant by path. All of that is fine. I thought you were refering to something more technical. The files are in public_html/forums. So that is fine

I am having a problem posting to my boards thru use of my phone, a TREO 680. I thought the problem was a mod but after removing the mod, the problem still exists. I have consulted phpBB and i was infomed it was server side or phone side. I want to try and see if it is server side since there are very few sites i have issues with. The error i get when trying to post either a post or a PM is... >An appropriate representation of the requestd resource /forums/posting.php could not be founs on this server or >An appropriate representation of the requestd resource /forums/privmsg.php could not be founs on this server How can i isolate the problem with this issue?

good to hear...i realllyknow nothing to phpBB3 so perhaps you will be the source of info. Someone mentioned my problem with my phone might be in in my phone but others say the host. I dont know to be honest. I just need to isolate the problem. Someone mentioned turning on cookies and i cant help but think they are on due to the fact that this is one of the very few sirte i have issues with and the thought of it being my own kinnda sucks

ok...its removed successfully and to my knowledge all is working fine. However i have to clear my boards to loggin to it with my phone or else i would loose all my highlighted new posts. hmmm....why is that. why is it when you loggin to check something, all the new posts are highlighted or whatever your template looks like and then if you loggout and back in none are highlighted anymore? Is this a question for phpBB?
