here is an important few. can the site at the other host be up and running thru the whole process. Can members post to the original forum on the original site during xfer will the original host be aware of this process

i would imagine there would be a name server change since the site is now hosted with another host.

hmmm... During the Xfer i would imagine that there will be some dead time. How long are we potentially looking at if there is a xfer that is cPanel to cPanel?

I have a friend who has experienced a shoddy experience with his current host and i am showing him TCH as you all have always gone above and beyond for me. So i am starting this thread so we can do our homework He is located in the UK and i am not sure if that means anything when hosting. About a good 80% of all the members on te site are actually in Europe and i was also curious if this effected things with the distance. Bandwidth wise. I had another friend create an account and site with TCH and they have a $5 a month plan but i dont seem to see that one listed...does it exist? Is there a discount for paying a full year in advance? *ran out of questions for the moment*

well i know they are in that folder i just dont know what the file would be called that would have the basic homepage. there shouldnt be much there really. I just dont know what that file is called

ok well i dont really know anything and am doing this blind. i read the stuff in the pinned topic... "html and css tutorials". if gives a basic explaination of how to make the scripted pages that are the website by defining all the tags. but is there a sample page where several of those are on it and perhaps a screenshot or link to a page what uses several of those? i am trying to see how i would create the homepage and what to do and where. i see how the commands work but not how they would all go together on a page. i also dont know where in my cPanel or on the ftp that i can find the homepage at my website. currently at the site you see a white page with a link to my phpBB3 forums. http://tregonia.net/ So i am surely not in the know here so again...where can i find a sample page that shows all the scripts inline and a view of wha the page would look like?

Well all is well on the forums, But i hit a snag. I thought it was a phpBB3 problem but they told me it was serverside. Before i did the upgrade i could upload over 10Mb, so i dont know what changed

Well i assume this would be in the right place, but dont know Does TCH have the ability and know-how to host game servers? I have been told they are done a little differnt but dont exactly know what all would be needed to do so. Tho i imagin that it would require all the files for the game and just to be comfigured right. the Files running would do things right tho i am not sure how if would work when things need to be clicked to fire the game. I am checking into the and figured i would start here where i am already hosting a website

Well i completed my update to php Gold and it seemed to have fixed this issue. I am about to head to the php forums to my thread there and inform those that the phpscripting was the culprit all along.....even tho they said it was the host Now Samrc...you dont use php, but our error is basically the same. I would inform them that this is an error in the scripting somewhere. My upgrade from phpBB 2.0.22 to 3.0 fixed my issue

I think the wrong tutorial is set up in the FTP accounts section in the cPanel. When you click on the tutorial for setting up ftp account, it runs the tutorial for making backups. Not sure if this was known or something i had wrong. Just thought i would mention it

im up and running now i believe. the only issues i have i believe are php issues

ok i made the changes and now i do have the option to begin the install. but i want to put the >php_flag register_globals off inthe right place. there is 2 files mentioned in that script so i just need to know if that would be put in twice, once of each file, or if it should be in just a certain one alone

ok...who wants to laugh at the noob. i couldnt just xfer the whole root...so this nood xfered all the folders individually but not the files in the main root. including the folder you named off at the top. yeah i know edit... yet its the same.. im doing as you mentioned

i have encountered a problem.
