  1. Right now I have my TCH-hosted e-mail accounts forwarded to a central address so I only need to POP down from one place. The problem with that is I need to log in via CPanel every now and then to clear out the accounts, since each one saves a copy of the mail it forwards. While reading the help file on forwarders, it's mentioned that to avoid the second copy being kept you can add a forwarder but not create the account. I'm interested, but since the only way I know of to create a forwarder is to create the account and then add it via the menus, I would like to know how just to make a forwarder that doesn't have an account "behind" it. Any help would be wonderful; thanks in advance and Happy Hollydaze!
  2. Awesome, thanks again! I'll contact the help desk right away.
  3. Okay, this is what I just tried: I went to the domain management screen, and noted that spinland.biz uses name servers ns1 and ns2. Then I noted that .net and .org had servers dns3 and dns4. I went to each of .net and .org in turn and changed the DNS setting to ns1 and ns2. Here's a screen shot of what I did: Was that how I was supposed to do it?
  4. Okay. So that I understand, the only cpanel access I have is to the actual hosting service I have on the spinland.biz domain. To have cpanel access to anything related to the .net or .org domains I assumed I'd have to get web hosting set up for them, too. Maybe I'm just making this way too complicated through lack of savvy. I already do have mail forwarding set up so that e-mail to accounts I created via cpanel that have spinland.biz addresses auto-forward to my ISP's account. Right now, though, if I (for example) try to access www.spinland.net/cpanel I get an error message as the domain name cannot be found.
  5. Yep, that's a good point. In order to have actual e-mail addresses on the new domains that point elsewhere, though, I expect I'd need to set up web hosting for the new domains (with disk space and cpanel access and all that), no? I got the impression there was a way to point the new domains at the old one without actually hosting any files on the new domain names. Maybe I'm just misinterpreting what "domain name forwarding" means in this context?
  6. Okay, sounds good. So, which service for the new domains should I purchase from you, normal hosting or domain forwarding (or something else)? Who does the pointing of the domains at the same nameservers? Thanks for your help thus far! Mark
  7. I've had spinland.biz registered and hosted with you guys for several years now (happily, I might add). I recently purchased domains spinland.net and spinland.org through you, but haven't done anything with them yet. What I'd like to do is have anything addressed to those domains forwarded to spinland.biz, instead--for example, my e-mail address might be myaddress (at) spinland (dot) biz, but if someone sent to myaddress (at) spinland (dot) net it would be forwarded to the .biz one. Likewise for web requests. The main desire here is to stop using the .biz domain since I no longer do business through the domain, but I want to leverage the years of use of that domain and not have to send out a bazillion address change requests to people, yet be able to access the same hosting using .net or .org addresses from now on if I want to. Is that a muddle, or am I making sense? I want to start using the new addresses (org and net), but have the old addresses (biz) still be valid. What's the best method for that, do you think? Do I need to buy hosting for the new domains, too, and install some sort of auto-forward software on them, or is there a top-level auto-forward method that just automatically translates one domain to another? I think there, is, from looking at your site info, but I'm not sure of the specifics. Thanks in advance! Mark
  8. It's 7:20 Eastern US time and we just got power back in our part of NY state (east and south of Syracuse). Things seem to be coming back on-line well enough, based on the local reports.
  9. That pretty much sums it up. By the time I reacted and sent in a trouble ticket they were already long since on the problem. Probably fixed even before I got the (very fast) response, since everything came back right after when I tried again. Rock Sign
  10. That is so cool! Thanks! Dance
  11. ... and a second back-up on a Zip disk. Never Again! Whip
  12. Not saying it's any better than the others mentioned here, just that it's the one I use and I prefer it to the main two flavors. SFAIK it layers over the IE engine, but I know it diverges sufficiently for my online banking page (which mandates IE or NS of a certain version *sigh*) to reject it. Lightweight, tabbing, image/flash/popup/cookie blocking that you can configure, and so on. http://www.avantbrowser.com/

  14. I really love apples, especially the mac. If they were to be tossed out a window I'd no longer be able to enjoy them so, I guess, I'm in for apples over windows.
  15. Thanks, guys! I'll poke around there and see how much trouble I can cause. Nerd Mark
  16. The re-build went quite easily, as you suggested it might. I took the opportunity to clean up the original template design (I'd hacked it together ad hoc while learning the program) and add some enhancements. Using the originals in a browser was a great idea, and in many cases I was able just to copy and paste major text blocks right back into CSB. Using the 'view->source' feature of the browser gave me access to all the inserted Gem stuff, and viola. Thanks! Guru, offer is so very much appreciated but, as you thought, the drive had already left the building. You guys rock! Rock Sign Mark
  17. I think there's a forest around here, but these dang trees are in the way ... Can I control the color scheme for any scroll bars that might appear on pages from CSB? Could some kind soul lead me around a tree or two and point me to what I should be reading in order to figure this out? Thanks in advance! Mark
  18. Thankee kindly! It's a technique I worked out last week doing the woodcut logo job. Like most such things it seems so simple, now. It was more difficult wrapping my poor tired brain around the javascript to make the rollover effect than to make the buttons themselves! That's when I remembered your post above, visited the links in question, and in less than an hour all my pain had been eased. Nerd
  19. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! Goof Try it now? Thanks! Mark
  20. Wonderfully helpful links! Thankyouthankyouthankyou! Thumbs Up Mark
  21. *sigh* Okay, after a hard drive crash I lost the .tlx file I was building my web pages with. As is always the case, I was going to back it up "real soon now." To add to my joy, I didn't have the FTP backup enabled by default, so my search of the web host files was fruitless. Any words of advice/wisdom ere I start importing the existing pages back into CSB one by one? Mad!!! Thanks in advance! Mark
  22. Sounds good to me, and thanks for the nice compliment! Drop a line whenever you're interested and we can hammer out what it is you're seeking. Taking off in a couple of hours for Boston; box seats to a Sox game tomorrow night, woohoo! Be back late Sunday. Spinny
  23. Awesome; thankee! Short titles all set, begarbled titles now gone bye-bye. Nerd
