Toadly Posted May 1, 2004 Posted May 1, 2004 Ahhh, here I am again! A few days ago I couldn't upload with either filezilla or SmartFTP. Someone helped me as far as they could go, which wasn't far. The last suggestion was try to use a differenct computer. Here I am on a different comp, and using a different FTP client, FTP Commander. The others wouldn't couldn't be downloaded here. So... FTP Commander is set up, and I have my publisher file highlighted as ready to load, but it dows not connect. My internet provider is Earthlink, so whatever happens, I know it will be slow. Pls bear with me, and pls, help!!! Thanks. Toadly Edit addition: There have been about 12 looks, but no replies. I think I just need help getting connected through FTP Commander, FCH's new recommended ftp client. Just need the quick fix here, folks. Hopefully that's all it is and I'll have my site on the host and I'll go from there... Any suggestions???? Quote
Toadly Posted May 1, 2004 Author Posted May 1, 2004 First of all, Thank you for helping me! I have FTP Commander as my ftp client, and the split screen shows up, I have found my files to transfer, have inputted the ftp.avhomeinspections.com, and user and password. In the server I put in 63, since server 63 is the one I am assisgned to at TCH. 'Server63' does not work. Well in any case, when I push the connect button, nothing happens. Any help out there? It would be very much appreciated!!! Toadly Quote
TCH-Don Posted May 1, 2004 Posted May 1, 2004 I have not seen FTP commander, but most ftp programs are set up the same way, here is a screen shot of CoreFTP Lite setup, may be it will help, click here to see snap shot Don't forget the remot folder is public_html If that does not work, put http://IPadress in the host window. boxturt Posted May 1, 2004 Posted May 1, 2004 Click on 'New Server" and enter a name you'll remember -your site's name perhaps. in 'FTP Server' enter just the IP number you have in your welcome email eg: 123.45.678.90 'FTP Port' is 21 'User ID' is in your welcome email as is your 'password' (unless you've changed it already) Check off 'Passive Mode', click 'Save' and you should be good to go. Your site name should appear in the right pane - double click on it and you should connect. Quote
TCH-Don Posted May 1, 2004 Posted May 1, 2004 If that does not work, put http://IPadress in the host window. Correction, just use IP in the host window 111.111.111.11 not http://111.111.111.11 moving to Backend Services Quote
