Publishing Using A Previously Made Frontpage Web

First, I should say I have very little experience with web publishing so I may not word things correctly, etc. I'm looking at switching hosting companies. With my last hosting companies they had very little step by step instruction for newbies, and I couldn't get the help I needed.

Anyway, I have made a webpage using Microsoft Frontpage 2000 but have not been able to view it at my domain name, although it says that it was published successfully. Am I going to be able to just hit publish in order to publish it on this host; in other words I think I am asking do you have Microsoft Frontpage Server Extensions, which I think that you did. Regardless, publishing it with this host should be an easy task right?

This may not be enough information. Let me know what you need.

Thanks,

HARMONY

Hi Harmony,

I'm don't use Frontpage myself, but I think everything is fairly straightforawrd. There is a 'bug' in FP 2000 I think which means that there is a problem 'just pressing the publish button' until your domain name has propogated.

There is a forum area for Frontpage which should provide a few other answers - I'll have a quick look now.

when you sign up with TCH, you have the ability to install FrontPAge Extensions via your cPanel menu interface.

the bug that was mentioned is if you are using FP2000.

Harmony,

Reading through the threads, it does seem there was a problem with FP 2000 and earlier, in that it will not publish to an IP address. If you are using a more recent version of FP, then not a problem.

There are plenty of folks around here that will willing help you out though - they're a great family to be part off - I signed up a couple of months back & all my problems / issues have been sorted out very quickly - even when they have nothing to do with 'hosting' :)

Hi!

I am using FrontPage 2002. When I first signed up, I published my domain using my IP address. I can't remember now what was totally messed up--but it was totally messed up.

I chatted with Bill online; he asked me to submit a help ticket, and then he recreated my account for me (thanks Bill!).

As soon as my domain name propogated, though, I had no trouble at all publishing via FrontPage. It just didn't like the IP address.

If you have any trouble publishing via FrontPage, feel free to give me a shout, either here, or through Yahoo! PM (bethohio3)

I'm sure you'll like TotalChoice as much as I do!
