jlb Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 If I have a URL registered with TCH (along with my webspace) and I want another URL, not registered with TCH to point to a folder on my TCH webspace, then what do I do? Do I first change the DNS settings of the non-TCH URL to point to the TCH servers? I did this. But when I tried the "Addon Domain" option in my cPanel, I was thwarted with an error message. Any advice? Quote
LisaJill Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 (edited) It is against TCH acceptable use policy to point a domain to a specific sub-folder, I believe. Here is a link to the acceptable use policy and I believe this is covered by the same reason that you can not point domains to a subdomain. You can park domains to your main site, so that both domains bring up the same content; just not to sub-folders. If I have misunderstood your question, my apologies; please clarify exactly what you are attempting to achieve. If there is still confusion, please feel free to submit a help desk ticket for more information specific to your account. Edited April 21, 2004 by TCH-Lisa Quote
arvind Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 I know its against the policy, is it acceptable to ask why ? I'm just a bit curious what it does that TCH should have banned it cos other hosts allow it. Quote
