goodasgold Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 Does anyone have a good script they can share for creating a members only area of my website. I am looking to create a directory of pages that will only be able to be viewed by members who register and then login with a username and password. Quote
Lianna Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 Really cool freebie called aMember. See the post and link here. Lianna Quote
shammer Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 Gotta go with Lianna here, amember is really cool. Quote
goodasgold Posted February 23, 2003 Author Posted February 23, 2003 The thing is it's not a subsciption service that I am having them sign up for. I am basically looking to add a login form with username and password stored so I can secure information housed in a members only area on my site. Amember is great and I have it but it's a bit more robust than I need really. Quote
Lianna Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 aMember does have a lot of features available, but you don't have to use them all. You can easily setup a Free Membership product and still accomplish the same thing. Beyond aMember, I think you can probably look into some hand programming of a database and some nifty php code. But I think you'd have to search for it or develop it yourself. If you want the whole thing manual, then create yourself a form that emails you with the info about a potential 'member'. Then you access cPanel and webprotect a directory. Create users for that webprotected directory by hand. ??? Anyone else have ideas? Lianna Quote
