cgoetz Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 i can access my cpanel, if i use the ip/cpanel, but when i try to access the cpanel with domainname/cpanel it doesn't work. little help? Quote
Lianna Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 What is your domain name? When did you sign up your account? And, did you change the Name Server for your domain as instructed in your welcome email? If you did change the NS for your domain and have waited the necessary 12-48 hours for the changes to propagate through the web, then you should be able to access via your domainname/cpanel address. If you will answer those three questions above for me, I double check that everything on the server end is good. Ok? Oh, one more: if you have the IP address that you were given in your welcome email, please post that here too. That will help me quickly identify which server you are on. Thanks, Lianna Quote
cgoetz Posted February 19, 2003 Author Posted February 19, 2003 yeah, i have the dns, as described in the email the domain name is www.slowthinkers.com the ip is http://66.246.77.52/ the account has been active for about two weeks. Quote
Lianna Posted February 19, 2003 Posted February 19, 2003 There ya go. Got it all fixed up. From now on though, you will need to use the following IP address instead of the one you were originally given in the welcome email. 66.246.87.127 You can now see the directory listing for http://slowthinkers.com Lianna Quote

elusive Posted February 19, 2003 Posted February 19, 2003 we have 2 sub domains. 2 seperate public files. after I upload my site from my documents to the file manager how do I view my site as to how it will look on line and what will the address be??? My domain name in elusive-dreams.net will the address be http://mysite.elusive-dreams.net and my othersite be http://site2.elusive-dreams.net And for each html file do I create a new folder in my file manager -ie.....for the splash page of my site I put it in a folder named index and for the Main page I was going to create a folder named main. will this have to be added in the address. I am sorry for all the questons, but this is the first time I have done this....obviously!! I have used free hosting before such as dreamwater and megspace...but this is completely different. Maybe there is a book I could read? also can I just use the file manager to upload files?? or should I use the ftp?? THANKS so much Quote
