realeasy Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 I currently have a reseller account with another company but downtime over the weekend has been a major problem. In that light I have a few questions about the reseller packages at TCH. 1. If I start with the simple plan and need more space can I upgrade to the next level? 2. Can I oversell such as if I have the basic plan with 1000 MB space and I offer customers packages with 500 MB of space would I only be allowed to sell 2 packages even if those customers only use a total of 200 MB space? 3. If I would decide to move to a dedicated server would I be allowed to resell accounts and would my curent accounts be moved for me? 4. I already have my own domain servers ie DNS1MYDOMAIN.COM, will I be able to use those? Thanks for your help, Keith Quote
HCSuperStores Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 I'm just a customer but I've found these guys to be sold, responsive and friendly. One of the tech guys will comment, but IMO I think that they'll go your way with every one of your questions (with the exception maybe of "overselling"). I know that in my reseller control panel, that when I say to give a guy 500 MB of space, it allocates it. But there may be more to this than meets the eye. So far I've been just as happy as a clam, and I didn't really have any major issues with my previous hosting company. I just outgrew them. Good luck in your search! Quote
MikeJ Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Speaking as a customer of theirs but who had a reseller account before upgrading to dedicated server (and helped other resellers): 1. Yes, not a problem. 2. No. Your bandwidth allocations can't exceed your total, otherwise it will prevent you from creating another account. Same goes with diskspace. (I'm 99% certain of this...someone will correct me if I'm wrong). 3. You can resell all you want on a dedicated server. I moved my own accounts, but TCH is very flexible and I believe they would help you move the accounts over. 4. If you have your own DNS servers, you can use them instead of TCH. If it's the nameserver names you want to use, but pointed at TCH nameservers, you have to have the standard reseller plan or above. Quote
