If you create subdomain, Is it just like folder-mapping to specific folder within your webspace, or is it going to create something like separated webspace for a subdomain which is seen at Plesk? Lianna Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Hello. First, TCH does not use Plesk. We provide cPanel with all of our hosting account. (My previous host offered Plesk and I was culture shocked when I found all the goodies and control wrapped into cPanel.) Subdomains can be handled in either of the ways you describe. It's up to you and how you choose to configure it. A few examples: I'll create a subdomain called mydad.****. Then - 1. I can then set the redirection for mydad.**** to ****/family/mydad.htm (a single page within my site in the /family directory). 2. I can set the redirection for mydad.**** to ****/mydad/index.htm (a directory within my site enabling mydad to become a site structure of his own). 3. I can create an FTP user "mydad" and give my Dad the password. he can then publish his own site to ****/mydad/index.htm. Almost endless possibilities here. Lianna Quote

zephyr Posted February 17, 2003 Author Posted February 17, 2003 Hi again, just would like to let you know...just signed up and arranged the name server changes...waiting for welcome email...hehe I experienced several *not costy* hosting companies and found it's bit difficult to find not-costy-but-reliable-hosting-company, but hope this will be the one you can get more than what you pay for....you've got really good comments somewhere on the web (possibly findmyhosting.com).... I'll be dealing with a website to provide people to meet up in reality after getting know each other on the net...firstly in London as I'm living in London. Actually I've been running it elsewhere for over 1 year and last time I had over 40 people at the pub. Well, it's sometimes really good to have some pints talking to real person rather than in a chat or something. Thank you and hope this will be the best hosting company for ever! Quote
