motarque Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 I need some advice. i've got a computer business and I'm just now beginning to delve into web design. I have a potential customer (my old high school) who really needs a new web page. Being that I've never sold my web design services, I was wondering what you all thought regarding a 10-15 page website that would need regular updating throughout the school year. My main question is: what are the going rates for custom web design? obviously, i'm not looking to make a killing here because my skills are not "professional". I've seen some companies selling their web design services for like, $1200 for a "starter" site. others, like TCH charge $200-$300 for a beginning package. Any ideas? Thank you. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 As far as I have seen it all depends on what the customer wants on its site, like how many pics, flash, etc... Quote
motarque Posted February 25, 2004 Author Posted February 25, 2004 hmm, ok. makes sense. Being it's for a school, it will have a fair amount of pictures associated with the site (sports, activities, staff, etc.). It won't contain flash as of yet (I don't know how to do that yet), but it will need regular updating (sports scores, announcements, etc.). Like i said, it would have 10-15 pages initially. If i take this project on, I'll no doubt use TCH for the hosting and domain name...just can't beat the prices and help! Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 (edited) I dont make websites for money myself so i cant tell about prices. I have done some websites for friends and so. but nothing fancy, so i havent felt i could charge big money. Edited February 25, 2004 by Jikrantz Quote
